  • "Lovely spotless cottage so we’ll stocked very nice welcome basket with wine, nibbles, chocolates, tea, coffee and biscuits plus a vase of roses with Thank You card attached felt thoroughly spoilt."

Views lovely you can see the Abbey and harbour easily and walk there on a jiffy. Yes it’s next to the railway and back Marina car park, so what? It just adds to the charm when you see the lovely steam engine chug by your window and they are not relentless the car park is hand if you have a guest come visit as they can park up in any one of the hundred spaces and cross over the railway crossing and be with you in a flash; what’s not to like? Fab shower, kitchen had everything you could possibly need there was even bags of ice in the freezer which I’ve never come across before but so pleased to use for my G&T. Tons of hangers in the wardrobe a decent supply of toilet roll/dishwasher tablets too. Parking space right out front with the name of the cottage on so absolutely no confusion an absolute Godsend in Whitby. Just a note: the Railway Chippy up the street does the BEST fish and chips in Whitby £16 for Jumbo Cod and chips we couldn’t finis ours!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hudson Cottage and plan to book another holiday next year."

The situation was excellent for access to the town, the views spectacular and we loved waving to the passengers on the steam trains. The cottage was immaculately clean and the beds were so comfortable -which is very important to us. A big "thank you" to the owners for getting everything just right.

  • "Great cottage, great location."

Nicely furnished with all facilities you could possibly need - with the exception of coat hooks by the front door, that it literally the only thing we felt was missing. Lovely to see the trains going past (one of the main reasons for staying in this location), views of the Abbey and the harbour are amazing and having a parking space is a must in Whitby - it's a five minute walk into the town at most. Having the door into the back garden in the master bedroom takes a bit of getting used to, may be a bit weird if it was two couples staying there but fine for us, the washing line was useful (even if it did take me a while to figure out how to use it!). Would definitely return.

  • "Lovely cottage In lovely Whitby."

Everything was immaculate and the owner had left a very generous welcome pack, much appreciated. We’ve been coming to Whitby for nearly thirty years and this is one of the best we’ve stayed in, very comfy bed and great sofas and chairs. Position is fabulous with long reaching views to the abbey and of course the wonderful stream trains go by everyday, our Grandson loved them. Parking in Whitby is worth more than gold so parking space is a boon. We will be back.

  • "We have stayed at this accommodation a number of times and was very surprised that the bath has been removed (won't stay again), the shower room had a foul smell, some of the utensils where not clean and grill pans had to be cleaned."

We where disturbed by the noise of a dog from next door (Stephensons Cottage) and when we checked on line at Sykes it said NO DOGS we did not contact the next door

Hi Brian, I am sorry the property did not meet your expectations. The bath was removed a number of years ago and replaced with a walk in shower which is clearly displayed on the photos and stated in the property description. We always receive a 100% score on all elements of the property, including cleanliness so I am surprised by your comments as I clean the cottage myself every week and check all items meticulously. I am sorry that you will not be staying with us again. Property Owner

The property was immaculate and had everything you could need. Perfect size for our family of three, plus one dog. The welcome pack was a really nice touch, the owner had thought of everything in terms of providing little extras to make our stay amazing, including an umbrella, which thankfully, we did not need. The garden area was lovely and the parking space was an added bonus. We had an amazing stay and we would highly recommend this property.

Cottage spacious, spotlessly clean, lots of storage space, lovely decor, good kitchen facilities, very generous 'welcome' box, generous supply of provisions Very comfortable bed and fab shower. Heating required on one day only during my stay - brilliant - therefore must be very cosy in winter. Only one problem. We don't do SKY TV at home.
