  • “For a couple of days away this flat would be fine.”

We were there for a week and found certain aspect a little disappointing. On the plus side, we were looking for a ground floor flat for 2 which was central and dog friendly so this met our needs. It was clean, warm with a hot shower (step up into this) and the free WiFi worked well. The bed was fine and duvet warm and the sofa was comfy. On the minus side, I do not feel this would be adequate for "two added guests" - yes, there is a bed settee but no facilities for hanging 4 lots of clothes - ...

On the minus side, I do not feel this would be adequate for "two added guests" - yes, there is a bed settee but no facilities for hanging 4 lots of clothes - one tiny wardrobe with 6 hangers (none for trousers) and not a full set of cutlery for 4. It was our choice to go in (wet and dark) October but the lighting in the main living room/kitchen was very gloomy (not adequate to read a book) and so difficult when cooking. The TV instructions were frustrating - only able to get BBC iplayer through the Fire stick - ordinary telly saying "The receiver is not receiving signal or the signal is too weak". During the present Covid situation both eating in and TV were important to us. Sykes said "fuel and power included in rent" but I was annoyed to read in the owners manual that gas and electric were paid for on cards with instructions on where to fill these up - it did say we should have enough on them for our stay, and we did, but surely this should not even be a concern. Kitchen utensils basic - how about a couple of egg cups?!!!
