• "Majestic is a luxurious home from home fitted out with quality fixtures and fittings."

  The beds were very comfortable, the linens and towels were good quality. The apartment is spacious and cosy, we were most impressed with the efficiency of the panel heaters. The location is excellent and peaceful, a level walk of 10 minutes got us to Church Street on the old side of Whitby. The allotted parking space is a bonus in Whitby. My party ranged from my 91 year Mam to my 7 year old Grandson, 4 generations in total, Majestic accommodated us all beautifully. We'd happily stay here again.

• "A very clean and comfortable apartment."

  The views are lovely of the harbour and a great location for a flat walk in to the town. It was very easy to warm the apartment too although the ticking of the electric heaters especially during the night in the bedrooms did disturb sleep. The cream carpet in the living room is unfortunately stained in places and that room didn’t feel luxurious for a 5 star apartment.I know it will be very difficult to keep this clean, as we used to have one, not very practical for a holiday let unfortunately. Thank you for the welcome pack, we enjoyed our stay and loved the Christmas tree and window lights.

The heaters can be adjusted to avoid 'ticking' especially during the evening when sleeping. • "Had a weekend in Whitby and was very pleased with the accommodation."

  Fixtures and fittings all done to a high standard. Views over the harbour and towards the Abbey were lovely. Just a short walk from the centre of Whitby. A welcome bag was left with Yorkshire goodies which was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

• "Really enjoyed our stay and plan on returning soon."

  We had a couple of small issues which was not the owners fault. The first being construction work was being carried out in the building and could hear banging & drilling regular. The second was when we arrived we was expecting a welcome pack after reading reviews so didn’t take essentials as came straight from work. The owner did call to see us and asked if we got one as he pays for it. He said to leave it with him and he will sort it but nothing came of it. We visit Whitby frequently in winter months and wouldn’t hesitate in rebooking the majestic. Chris & janice

• "Really enjoyed our stay."

  Perfect location and very quiet compared to where we have stayed previously. Apartment was immaculate and it was great having the car parking space outside the block. The welcome package was a lovely gesture.

• "We had a wonderful stay at Majestic."

  There is a magnificent view from the living room. The apartment is clean and very well appointed. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Whitby. It's own private, level, parking space, the views and just far enough away from the hubbub without feeling distant. A short stroll has you in the centre of everything. Part way through our visit we had a slight mishap of our own making which that the Yorkshire Coastal Cottages team resolved it immediately. We are very thankful indeed! No hesitation in recommending.

• "Great apartment at Whitehall Landing complex."

  I have stayed in several apartments here and this has been one of the nicest ones. Good facilities and a great speck of furnishings and appliances. Cleanliness was also really good for a holiday let. I would definitely recommend and return for future holidays in Whitby. I did however have a few issues as per below during our 2 week stay. • Vacuum Cleaner didn’t work. Whilst a temporary fix was made in the first few days by the owner it lasted all of 10 mins and keeping the apartment clean became the nemesis of my holiday as I had to replace the drive belt on the machine daily as it was not satisfactory replaced or repaired by the owner. • We were asked on 3 occasions if we wanted the bedding changing after week 1. We said that would be great on all 3 occasions but this did not happen ? • Cafeteria exploded on 2nd day after pouring boiling water in to make coffee. This was reported and promptly replaced by the owner to which we was grateful

  Dear Garry, Thank you for your kind review and feedback, it is good to hear you found Majestic one of the nicest apartments you have stayed in. It is also wonderful to hear that as a regular guest at holiday lets you found the cleanliness and facilities in Majestic really good too. With regards to your comment about the hoover, I personally ordered a replacement belt on the day the fault was reported. This took 2 days to acquire from an online company. I then told the agent that I would go down and replace the belt when the part arrived and to advise me when this would be convenient with the guest. I did not hear back, therefore I went straight down to repair on the day you checked out as I assumed all was in order. I was not aware that the temporary fix had not worked. We were completely unaware of the request to change linen, we had not been informed about this and will follow up with the agents. When I heard about the cafeteria, I went straight to Argos to purchase a new 8 cup cafeteria and delivered this to Majestic the same day. • "We stay in Whitby twice a year and this is definitely one of the nicest holiday lets we have stayed in."

  Everything is really well presented and the view from the living room window is amazing. We would definitely stay here again. Can’t find any negatives at all for this property.

• "We enjoyed a perfect holiday in this lovely apartment."

  It’s in an excellent location with easy access to the harbour and you have the benefit of your own parking space which is a premium in Whitby. The apartment itself was clean and well maintained and the welcome pack left by the owners was magnificent. You have views over the river and harbour, and can enjoy watching the steam train arrive and depart. Thanks for a fantastic stay we will definitely be staying here again in the future.

• "Clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient apartment with allocated off road parking."

  Handy for flattish walk to town centre. Amazing location for watching wildlife on the river Esk and the passing steam trains. As allergic to dogs, the fact property is pet-free was welcomed. We came home relaxed despite walking over 60 miles along the cleveland and esk valley ways.

• "We have had a fantastic week staying in this clean, comfortable and convenient apartment with close off road parking."

  Especially important as we haven’t moved our car between arrival and departure! Inside we used the local buses to Staithes and Scarborough, stream train to Goathland, local train to Grosmont and walked miles along the coastal path and Esk Valley. • "We so enjoyed our week in this place with its lovely view over the river Esk."

  Watching the bird waders at low tide was so interesting, with many other birds, to see. Loved the binoculars provided. My husband enjoyed watching the steam trains from the flat. We so enjoyed walking into Whitby without having to worry about taking the car. This was our best holiday for a long time, in a beautifully appointed flat. We had problems trying to find No 5 on the key holders - suggest you label out a plan on the joining instructions making it clear which one is for No 5. Other couples had similar problems with finding keys for other flats. One of the double beds was very low, being a tall person I found it difficult to get down so low.

• "Lovely comfortable apartment with a parking space just outside and a lift to the first floor for when we were tired!"

  It had stunning views over the river, to the abbey on the hill and to the town. We could watch the morning or afternoon steam train across the river on it's way into the station, see many different birds on the pontoons or on the mudflats when the tide went out. It was a short walk to the old town. We will certainly be back. We met the charming owners when we were leaving who were awaiting a delivery of new mattresses to replace the two less comfortable mattresses.

• "Very nice apartment."

  Lovely and clean with everything you could need. Great location with fantastic views. Good to have parking space nearby. Pub and chip shop about 5 minutes walk and centre of whitby around 15 minutes with a gentle stroll on mostly flat ground. Only negative for us were the beds which we found a bit uncomfortable. Would definately stay again and recommend.

• "The owner Pam went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable."

  The previous occupants had had a spillage in the lounge and the owner had put an industrial fan in to dry the carpet which she told us to keep as the weather was going to be hot!! On the 5th day the kettle broke and Pam delivered a new one herself. The apartment was exceptionally clean and inviting on arrival with a lovely welcome basket of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. All instruction booklets for every item in the apartment were in a drawer and every item of equipment you needed down to washer tablets and washing up liquid were provided, it was just like a home from home. I would definitely recommend this apartment it was fantastic and we had an enjoyable week under very sad circumstances made easier by the accommodation, thank you x

• "A lovely apartment in an excellent location."

  The decor is lovely and it was clean and smelt gorgeous on arrival. We enjoyed trips out to Robin Hood's Bay, Goathland, and a day out on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We can highly recommend the Riverside chippy 2 mins walk away and the Thai restaurant based in Whitby train station ... and every tea room we vistied.
