  • "Lovely little bungalow, perfect for our 3 night stay with our dog."

It was easy to find the parking space and access the property. We walked into Whitby which did take less than 20 minutes but it should be noted that the steep walk back and 60+ steps up from the Cinder Track might not be for everyone.

Redmayne was a great base for us and gave us both parking and a garden for the dogs. The bungalow is small but comfortable. TV signal was poor but we had books and crafts with us. The walk in to Whitby is only 10 minutes but is quite steep. Overall a lovely break in beautiful Whitby.

  • "On the whole a nice house, in a very quiet area with easy access to the park and ride for getting into town (ideal as no trying to get parked)."

There is a nice wee garden at the back of the house which is great to relax in after being in the very busy town. Kitchen was well appointed although the freezer wasn’t really usable because it opened against the radiator so drawer opening was limited. My husband found the double mattress very uncomfortable and ended up with a sore back after the first night. This did not improve until we got home. We were there towards the end of the season and so the bathroom was in need of an update. Also the sitting room wall behind the couch was needing a freshen up. Some windows were blown and the patio doors were a bit difficult to open.

E another grab rail outside the front door and maybe in the bathroom, the cottage as a whole is not wheel chair friendly, just from a personal point if View the cottage was perfect in every other way,can be managed with a walker, well worth it for the money.

  • "Just back from a week at Redmayne Cottage."

The cottage is a real home from home everything you could possibly want. Location is great it’s about 5 mins drive into Whitby and you can also walk. We had a toddler and my mum who was 82 so we drove but lots of great little walks around the cottage and the garden great to keep at toddler secure and just to chill in after a long day sightseeing. Little local kids park too. Parking is great as we had two cars. It’s just at the back of the property. Easy to keep on top of cleaning and all facilities in the house are great even did out washing before we came home. Would recommend for kids, elderly people and pet lovers. Beautiful cottage and neighbours welcoming and have us advise on where to go etc. Local beach is Sandsend and literally 5 mins drive just about 50 steps to walk down but the most beautiful beach. Well recommended cottage for all you needs and location.

I was asked to move my car over the other car which was parked there when we arrived was also at the house next door so I presume they have 4 parking spaces. We had a welcome party from the nosy neighbour next door telling us the man that owned the house had just left and also on our departure glad it wasn’t the summer and we weren’t sat out in the garden I dread to think what she would have been like. I would just like to say the bungalow was comfortable but the cleanliness wasn’t up to Covid guidelines and deep clean yes it was surface clean but all the skirting boards were dusty and the fan extractor in the bathroom needed cleaning but other than that the bungalow was ok.
