The property was as described and perfect for our family group of 5 adults 3 young kids and a dog! Ideal location in the centre of Whitby, near most local amenities. The accommodation was comfortable and spacious with a good supply of books and games. The welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch. The only negative was the refuse disposal, as on arrival on the Friday all the bins were already full. They were not emptied until the following Thursday, so waste was stored outside in bin liners, much to the delight of the Seagulls, as we found to our cost! This did not spoil the holiday, but it was an issue that needs sorting.

The property

A superb, Georgian end-terrace house in the heart of Whitby.

This spacious property, retaining a wealth of original features, boasts stained glass windows, high ceilings and period doors and fireplaces.

Two staircases lead up to each floor, one a secret back stairway, originally used by the servants!

Tastefully furnished and decorated, this light, airy accommodation provides a comfortable and extremely convenient base for exploring this old fishing port, strolling around the harbour and cobbled alleyways, or sampling the restaurants and pubs.

With long sandy beaches 5 minutes' walk away, this makes for a wonderful family holiday.

The surrounding area offers attractions including the dramatic moors, fishing villages, the steam railway and a visit to Aidensfield - Heartbeat country!

A wonderful Whitby cottage.
