The property

An immaculate, modern cottage close to Whitby town centre and with private garage parking. This well-equipped two bedroom property, set over three floors, is lovingly decorated throughout and refurbished to a high standard.

Families or couples will love its pleasant ambience and superb location in a quiet residential area, close to the bustling harbour, fantastic restaurants and shops. From the entrance porch, you’ll notice a ground floor utility and laundry facilities (including suspended drying rack) – very handy after a day on the beach, and with home for your dog.

There’s also a cloakroom with basin and WC. The main open plan living area is to the first floor.

It has a lovely spacious feel and is a welcoming space in which to relax, cook, eat and simply chat together about what you might do next in gorgeous Whitby.

The immaculate kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

There’s a dining area and comfortable seating nearby with TV/DVD. Also on this floor, a contemporary bathroom includes a bath, with a large separate shower, basin and WC. Two lovely bedrooms occupy the second floor; the master bedroom has a king-size bed, TV, plus a charming dressing room.

The twin bedroom has two full-size single beds and a TV. Springhill Cottage has the considerable advantage of garage parking with an electric up and over door – a real bonus in Whitby. From your doorstep, the first call is likely to be the harbour, with its bustling quayside, excellent restaurants and pretty array of fishing and pleasure boats – a lovely way to see more of the surrounding coastline.

Head over the swing bridge into the ‘old town’ and soak up the old world atmosphere of its cobbled, winding streets which lead to the famous 199 steps.

Whitby’s beach here is dog-friendly. Families in search of some good old-fashioned bucket and spade fun are spoilt for choice.

Whitby’s sandy beach is magical and Scarborough, with its miniature coastal steam railway and Sea Life Sanctuary, is within easy reach.

The nearby fishing village of Staithes, setting of CBeebies series ‘Old Jack’s Boat’, will be familiar to children who’ll love feeling like they’ve walked onto the set. Springhill Cottage makes a very pleasant base from which to enjoy a lovely holiday by the sea.
