  • "It would be very helpful if the owners joined the holiday accommodation scratch card parking scheme."

There were an awful lot of ornaments and artificial plants in the house. It was quite difficult to manage these with the youngest children. We would recommend reducing the number. Overall it was a comfortable, well equipped house and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Tim (one of the owners) was incredibly helpful in advance of the holiday; giving us parking tips, asking us to check for any specific kitchen supplies we needed so he could order them for express delivery and generally giving us information about Whitby during December."

The house was warm and clean with a well stocked kitchen, plenty of bathrooms for our group of 12 to share (including a baby) and good quality bedrooms so there were no squabbles over bedroom choice! The attic bedroom has a lovely view over Whitby. The house is situated perfectly on the edge of the town centre, so we were able to nip in and out of town as we pleased. Parking on the street is busy and you are limited to 3 hours, but around 5 mins walk away there is plenty of free parking (I imagine this may be trickier in the summer months?). We would definitely come back to stay at the Delaunay again when we are a group of 10+

  • "The owner was very helpful also when you book if you would like a hot tub ask the owner and he will arrange this for you very quickly the house is very clean and very lovely has everything that you need, The Cottage is only a 3 to 4 minute walk to the harbour of Whitby and shops and bars There is also parking on the street."

With the passes that are supplied by the owner in The Cottage but if it gets a bit busy at the bottom of the street next to the church there is a car park which is always empty and only cost 50p overnight.

  • "A lovely time had by all."

Everything we needed was there including some necessary essentials kindly bought by Tim (the owner) for our arrival ie: milk, butter, bread etc. I would highly recommend the property, beautifully appointed, comfortable beds, and perfectly situated.

  • "The house was really lovely, so nicely decorated and had everything you could need."

It’s really centrally located in Whitby too and the hot tub is great! Tim was a perfect host, going above and beyond to check we had everything we needed. He even bought us a welcome back of some food and drink and let us stay us late on our leaving day as he didn’t have any other guests coming. Would definitely recommend this house!

  • "The house was very conveniently situated in Whitby for shops entertainments and beach."

Parking is an issue as on street parking is in short supply, we did though find spaces albeit often a few roads away. Accepting that this is an old house, the owner has done well in making it comfortable and equipping it well. The owner met us and was extremely pleasant and helpful. We slept twelve, eight adults and four children and had ample bedroom space for that. We liked having a door code lock and not having to worry about keys. The children gave it 10 out of 10 for games of Hide and Seek!!

  • "11 of us stayed in the house for the weekend and had a wonderful time."

House was big enough for everyone and we all had plenty of space. Beds were extremely comfortable and the decor was done to high standards. Host was brilliant and made sure we had everything we needed and also greeted us with Prosecco and essentials including pizza. Definitely coming back.

  • "The Delaunay is such an amazing home from home."

The house is furnished to a high standard, with lovely big tall rooms letting in light and offering a great place to relax, unwind and entertain in a large group. There are 2 large reception rooms and a big kitchen. The house is literally a minutes walk from shops and about 5 minutes to the main part of Whitby near the harbour. The location is fantastic and within a minutes walk there is a lovely fish and chip shop, gorgeous bakery, gin bars, antique shops, hairdressers... you name it ! The bedrooms are spacious with very comfy beds and the bathrooms have lovely powerful and hot showers. Each bedroom has it's own character and the view from the top bedroom is great. The host is extremely thoughtful and is there on the end of the phone should you need anything, not that we did as everything was just perfect. The small yard area has lots luscious plants and greenery with quirky outside lighting. Whitby is one of my favourite places and I will definitely be booking a repeat visit... the best holiday home I've used yet !!
