  • "Great cottage and very functional."

Loved the little touches like the gift bag and the practical elements like ensuring there were cleaning material, washing soap, shower gel, foil, sandwich bags, black bin bags, hoover. This meant we could do our bit to ensure we tidied up after ourselves and could make packed lunches for day trips out. Washing machine and dish washer were essential with a family. I would only comment that there was no shaving socket and that the parking was only for smaller vehicles. However we did find parking on Silver Street and free parking on the cliff. We would have preferred check out at 10am because with children 09.30 was a bit stressful. Bed in Master Bedroom a bit low and hard mattress- but then we are older in years! Otherwise it was very homely and welcoming, with great access to Whitby and surrounding areas.

  • "Fantastic facility."

Beautifully clean and tidy. Amazing shower. Dishwasher to clean up overnight. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The goody bag was a lovely surprise. Fantastic location, quick walk down the stairs outside and your at the Harbour. Skinner Street is just a few feet up the road where you'll find Botham's bakery, one of the best bakeries you'll ever visit, pick up fresh baked products for breakfast. Abbey Wharf across the river is great for food and late night boogying. Incredible star gazing from the large car park by the Abbey.

Fully equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. Access is via a gentle ramp, but then so is everything in the town, still not a problem. Whitby is a wonderful area with plenty to see, loads of nice places to walk, eat, drink. We had the best weather so far this year but even if the weathers not great still lots to do. Would definitely recommend.

  • "As a 6 foot 2 inch tall person my only feedback is the size of the beds."

They’re very comfortable but a double just isn’t big enough. Aware the rooms aren’t that wide but a slightly larger bed would mean I’d book again. As it is, I’d think twice.

  • "Some of the kitchen cupboards would not stay open and snapped shut on my arm when putting things away."

I had to hold it open by resting it on my head. Also there was something wrong with the freezer so the fridge always had a puddle of water. The parking space was not big enough for a medium car and the listing should be amended to say it is suitable for a small car only

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for your recent stay with us, I did receive your note after you had left, however it did not detail any of the above issues only the fridge and I was also sorry not to receive any contact from you whilst you were at the cottage. The freezer has been looked at by our cleaner and we are unable to find any issues, providing guests keep the door shut, it will have no defrosting problems. The cupboard doors will be looked at and if any maintenance is required, this will be actioned. Thank you for advising us of this. With regards to the parking, the space has been used prior to your stay by a variety of different sized cars and it is definitely suitable for small to medium sized vehicles, i am sorry to hear you had trouble with this, however we can also provide parking permits for on street parking if required. Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback with us. Property Owner

We didn't expect to find all the extra toiletries plus a wonderful gift bag with delicious cake ect. The only downside for us was the bed is too low and I struggled to get up. But it was very comfortable with super bed linen. Also very good quality towels. The location of the cottage is ideal just a couple of minutes to the harbour. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

  • "A wonderful cottage in a great location in beautiful whitby."

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The owner was very helpful and easily contactable. The parking space was a huge bonus as parking in Whitby is difficult. It’s quite a tight fit so will only take a medium size car at most but that was made very clear on booking. I have a honda civic and managed OK but think anything much bigger would be difficult. Whitby itself is beautiful with lots to see and do. Will definitely return.

Its in a great location, really close to everything Whitby has to offer. The parking space is quite small but fine unless you have a big car. The owner was most helpful and kindly text me to let me know the cottage was ready for us before 4pm , so when we arrived we were able to go straight to the cottage which was nice and warm and a box of chocolates waiting for us. As we went early March, the weather was cold but the cottage was always warm with plenty of hot water for showers and baths. I can definantly reccommend this property to anyone who wants a great stay in Whitby.

It's in a fantastic location and bonus to have a parking space as well. We would definitely recommend it and plan to return next year as had a fantastic time. My 5 year old daughter was disappointed to leave as loved 'her bedroom'. The owner was also extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is sykes send emails before hand to advise you to contact owner about a week before to arrange key pick up, where as the owner likes to ring you a day or so before as actually has code to give you as well and assume doesn't like to give out too far in advance. Completely understandable so think Sykes need to update what they send outta customers.

The pillows were most unconfortable we wished we had brought our own. But that did not spoil our stay in any way. The second is due to the steepness of the path outside, my mother had great difficulty in walking to the car. If possible, a handrail on the wall will be helpful. That's all. No dramas. What I would point out to other potential visitors is that the allocated parking space isn't very big at all! We are a 2 car family & luckily we own a newer shape Mini which fitted into the allocated parking space perfectly. It wouldn't of fitted a much longer car I don't think?
