“LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT PERFECT FOR OUR STAY”

Myself and five of my girlies spent the weekend at The Townhouse, Whitby and LOVED IT. Firstly the location was spot on a bit up the hill but walking distance to all the shops pubs beach etc. We were given one free parking space but the cars in front of the house never moved and we didn’t want to park in an area we didn’t know. BUT there is a car park opposite the house and its £8 for 24hrs that's 33p an hour BARGAIN. You can monitor your car from your window. The house is AMAZING 5 ...

The house is AMAZING 5 floors, sorry if you cant do stairs this is not for you. I'm partially disabled and slept in the attic I coped but was hard work. It was worth it. Ill start from the basement where there is a shower, toilet, sink which was handy with plenty of hot water fab décor. Kitchen/diner is a good size. There is no outside sitting. The kitchen was well equipped with virtually everything you needed. Missed the use of a toast rack. If out of the whole house we all had any criticism and it’s a small one. The table didn’t match the fantastic décor of the house. The seats were not comfortable without the cushions and the table was too narrow. When we had 6 sitting round it with a full evening meal it was tight. And the large round mats didn’t allow 6 dinner plates, 3 oblong mats would had fitted better. Otherwise perfect. The welcome hamper was LOVELY a really nice gift on our arrival thank you. Next floor up same level of the front door. The lounge is a fab big room, beautifully decorated as is the whole house, so much thought gone into the decorating and furnishing of this place we just loved it. The lounge had lots of dvds, games, plenty of room and a big sofa. Next floor, beautiful large bedroom with a bath (which most used once they found the plug which was in the upper hole in the bath). 4th floor again another big room, low ceiling well thought out lighting and headboard, Bathroom good size love the glass bricks to allow light in. The final room was the attic fun room great space. Two single beds where I stayed. Good ceiling height, bedding perfect, wardrobe (needs a lock on kept walking into the door that had opened), drawers and one of two bedside shelving (other had broken). I don’t like to be negative but just a couple of things here. Beds comfy but very creaky waking us up every time we moved. The boiler etc is in this room and very noisy when it kicks in early morning. Possibly look at insulating the cupboard. That boiler door and the door to the eves need solid block secure locks as they rattled in the wind and kept us awake. Apart from the silly few neg points WE WOULD DEF RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. We LOVED it and hopefully will be booking again next year. Thank you for a fun beautifully decorated house. You wont be disappointed if you book this. Thank you we LOVED IT!!!!

The property

Chic, Georgian town house in a sought-after residential area, only minutes from Whitby’s excellent array of restaurants, shops, bustling quayside and gorgeous sandy beach. Contemporary style meets Georgian grandeur in this spacious, three bedroom property.

Love and careful attention to detail has resulted in a beautifully decorated and furnished residence which your family and friends will be pleased to call ‘home’.

A gem of a find in historic Whitby! Set over five, impressively-styled floors, let’s begin with the lower ground floor.

Here you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, Smeg fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

There’s a contemporary dining table and chairs, plus bench seating and a cosy reading nook - great for keeping the cook company!

There is also a shower room on this floor. The ground floor sitting room has real period drama, its brooding ceiling décor is offset with beautiful lighting, painted wooden flooring, decorative open fireplace with tiled surround, plus sumptuous soft furnishings and artwork.

What a refined space in which to unwind after a busy day sightseeing. On the first floor is a luxury master double bedroom with king-size bed, and stunning free-standing, roll-top bath – so romantic, with space for two - don’t forget the fizz. Upstairs is another restful second floor double bedroom and a bathroom that feels like a boutique hotel, with bath, hand held shower, basin, WC and chrome radiator. Take the stairs to the top floor where a cute twin room is nestled in the eaves. From your fantastic West Cliff location, stroll down to the pretty harbour – with its famous swing bridge – and enjoy a special meal in one of the award-winning restaurants.

It’s so handy, only 5 minutes’ walk.

The beach nearby is sandy and golden with some breathtaking sunsets over the bay.

Don’t leave Whitby without visiting St Mary’s Church and iconic Abbey, challenge the kids to see who’s quickest to climb the famous ‘199 steps’ to reach the top! Nearby, the fishing villages of Staithes, Sleights, Runswick and Robin Hood’s Bay are worth visiting.

Stretch your legs and enjoy a walk along the beach from Whitby to Sandsend at low tide, calling in at one of the welcoming cafes there. We’re sure you’ll fall in love with Whitby and with ‘The Townhouse’, a property so in keeping with its beautiful locale.
