It was in a great position too. Lots of room for 8 of us easy . Short of nothing , parking wasn’t easy as it was really busy however definitely worth the walk a street or too away will definitely return. Lesley ,mark & family.

It was probably the best house we have stayed in and had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. The kitchen was well stocked with quality cutlery, pans and crockery. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and having so many bathrooms was a blessing with family members. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Westwood Cottage to anyone thinking of a family holiday on the east coast.

  • "Perfect in every way."

The attention to detail was spot on. Although parking was on a first come, first served basis we didn't have an issue with it at all and were able to park outside the house daily (2 cars), not too sure how that would be on a weekend though. The 5 minute walk down to the centre was quite steep and possibly not suitable for persons with any mobility issues, but we (personally) were more than happy with this and with the close proximity to the centre and amenities.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. You are right the Whitby hills are not for the faint-hearted but it’s worth the walk. Best wishes Property Owner

Two minutes walk down to the harbour and shops. Parking not easy,so when we parked outside the house, we walked everywhere or caught the local buses which were great. Plenty of good places to eat and lovely fish and chips.

Thank you for the lovely feedback - yes parking can be a bit tricky but like you say public transport is good and the walks are wonderful Property Owner

I'd recommend to anyone! We came on a family visit with two dogs. It was great that we all had our own bathrooms and downstairs there is plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. It felt like a home from home! It's a great location too, being able to walk right into the centre of Whitby. Parking can be tricky in Whitby but we were very fortunate to get 3 cars parked on the street as we all arrived at slightly different times.

Westwood Cottage did not disappoint. I’d call it more of a palace of delights than a cottage though, as it had everything we could possibly have wanted. Superb kitchen, spacious sitting room with comfy seating for all, a fab family friendly dining room, luxury bathrooms and beautiful bedrooms. We were cosy and comfortable and extremely impressed. Infact in approx 17 years of coming to Whitby, it’s probably the best property we’ve stayed in.

There was plenty of space for the 8 of us and the house is probably one of the best equipped holiday homes that we've stayed in. The courtyard at the back was perfect for meals, drinks and sunbathing. There was lots to do in and around Whitby; highlights included paddle boarding, walking the Cleveland way towards Robin's Hood Bay and back to Whitby along the Cinder track, fish and chips at Trenchers and afternoon tea at Dotty's in Staithes.

I'd just like to say a big thank you from me my wife and my parents. My parents both in there seventies have been locked away in isolation for twelve months and this trip was there first time to Whitby. You have made there holiday with your beautifully presented house. With covid making them uneasy at times there concerns was put at ease as soon as we arrived at your house,it is spotlessly clean and  tastefully presented with clearly no cost spared. I can't thank you enough and we will definitely be back next year.

  • "My family comprising of 4adults and 4 children had a very good comfortable holiday staying at the Westwood in Whitby."

The house was furnished to an exceptionally high standard and all the bedrooms were light airy and had very comfortable beds. 2 of the children stayed in the twin attic bedroom and they loved the quirkiness of it. Access to the town took only about 5mins going down but about10 mins coming back up as the steps and the hills are fairly steep but manageable. However there is a longer way around to the town avoiding the steps. Whitby is a lovely old resort with plenty of things to do during the day for all the family and a varied choice of restaurants to eat out on of an evening. The whole family agreed that this was a 5 star holiday. Thank you Linda and Matt.

House was amazing had everything we needed and more. Plenty of space, plenty of glasses for plenty of alcohol, bowls and treats for the dogs, lovely outside space. The only small issue was the cleaning, bins in the house were left unemptied and full bins outside, dining table looked as though it had been cleaned with a dirty cloth, no big issue, just feedback for the cleaner. We were glad we went, was just what we needed to relax during this difficult time. Hopefully we will return when we can leave the house and enjoy Whitby,

Thank you very much for your feedback, we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return to enjoy all the additional attractions that Whitby has to offer. We’re sorry that the cleaning wasn’t up to scratch in all respects on this occasion. We have since changed our cleaner and introduced additional cleaning to fully conform with the Covid 19 Cleaning Guidelines, the premises are fully sanitised between each visit. Property Owner
