Only 5 minutes walk into Whitby centre. The apartment was spacious, very clean and had everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We even had milk and biscuits left for us. Would highly recommend.

  • "Lovely flat, very clean and everything was as advertised."

Bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything that we needed for a weeks stay. We struggled to find a parking space near the property so had to pay to park down in the marina, but it was only a 5 minute walk so no issue. We bought a 5 day parking pass from the tourist information centre at Endeavor Wharf which was cheaper than paying at the machine or by phone each day. Would definitely stay again if visiting Whitby in the future.

  • "Beautiful, clean flat with everything you could possibly need provided, and only 5 mins walk from whitby train station/ harbour."

The listing states on street parking available. Knowing whitby I doubted that so planned to park in the Marina car park 5 mins away. At no point in our stay was there any space to park on the unrestricted streets around the flat. This wasnt an issue as I had assumed this would be the case and planned accordingly, but we are all fit and able bodied. Maybe the listing should change to onstreet parking may be available, but other wise the main car park is only a 5 min walk away. You can drop off outside the flat as it has double yellow lines so is never blocked by parked cars.

We had been left a pack of locally made biscuits, tea coffee and milk in the fridge on arrival with a welcome note. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely place, some awesome family memories made here.

Excellent service. It would be useful if the property has been cleaned before 3pm, for the holidaymakers to receive a phone call. I think this would be a nice gesture which we would highly appreciate after our long journeys.

Clean & comfortable. Parking was a little challenging at times but, that's Whitby. Walks from the doorstep & by using the steam trains, & a one way walk back to Whitby. Shame about the weather, being both wet & cold, but we still got out & about.

  • "Overall we were very impressed with the accommodation."

...just a couple of things to mention as follows: 1) Property states one flight of stairs when in fact there are three and although there are two landings on the way it is quite a climb for older people or those with mobility problems. 2) The mattress on the king size bed is not fit for purpose....very lumpy and worn despite there being three mattress covers which have obviously been placed in an effort to disguise the problem. Neither my husband or myself had a decent nights sleep all week as there was no other bed to move too. I'm sure this issue could be resolved easily and at little expense but would ensure guests would return to the property.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you were impressed with our property as we do try very hard to provide a high quality standard of accommodation for each and every guest. We are sorry you found the stairs ‘a climb’. The property description does correctly state that White Horses is a second floor apartment (there being no ground floor apartment within the building), but the ‘flight’ of stairs is technically misleading so we have amended the description accordingly. It is disappointing that you found the king size mattress and toppers uncomfortable and we are sorry you struggled to sleep. Mattress comfort is a matter of personal preference and the mattress has clearly suited many previous guests. However, we have taken your discomfort on board and have now purchased a new high quality 1500 pocket sprung mattress for the king size bed which we hope will ensure many comfortable nights of sleep for all our future guests. The attention to detail went above and beyond with a range of games and books for evenings and rainy days. It was incredibly clean and very comfortable. Ideally situated for all of Whitby’s attractions and with a beautiful view of the sea and Whitby Abby. Highly recommended to anyone. Due to being on a hill and on the second floor would not be suitable for those who struggle to walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the boys have already asked if we can go back next year!

  • "The apartment was lovely and very well equipped with everything you could need."

The view of the Abbey and the sea is beautiful. We are a family of 2 adults a 6 year old, a 3 month old and a dog. Our only criticism would be that there were noisy neighbours, I don't know if they lived there or were also on holiday but the apartment below had noisy dogs barking periodically and above were a family and it often sounded like a stampede above us. Obviously this is no fault of the owner of white horses. There was 2 occasions when we struggled to park the car. Overall though we had a lovely holiday and would stay at White Horses again.
