“I have used many holiday cottages during the past twenty or so years but Vicarage Cottage proved to be the finest without a doubt.”

Spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed (bathroom and kitchens fabulous) and a unique rural location with easy access to places of interest and beauty such as York, Bridlington, Beverly etc. Homely thoughtful touches throughout the property and Katie, as hostess, is so helpful you want for nothing.

Very comfy bed! Dog facilities excellent - almost made me want to get one! Open fire so would be great to book in winter months too Can’t wait to book a second visit.

Howden is a small historic market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It lies about 20 miles south-east of York. The town of Howden is dominated by its beautiful Minster, which leads to a beautifully preserved Georgian town centre, with narrow cobbled streets and restored buildings with some attractive shops, historic coaching inns and charming tea rooms, and a small market which takes place each Friday. On the outskirts of the town, Howden Marsh is a lovely place for a quiet walk, with a lake and small islands which have become habitat for birds and wildlife. The town of Pocklington is not too far away within the Vale of York. There are several world-famous attractions nearby majestic Castle Howard, beautiful Sledmere House, and of course the city of York. The city of York needs no recommendations, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker, The Minister, its Medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, museums and of course York Races. You will certainly be spoilt for choice within this area of Yorkshire.
