  • "The directions need to be better, why go through Pitlochry when one has to use the A9."

On the northbound A9 take the Dalwhinne Distillery turning, stay on the road and after 5 miles you will pass the cottage. Simples Also, the image of the cottage provided showed the rear of the building never to be seen from the road. A roadside image would be an advantage. All in all a very pleasant experience and highly recommended.

  • "Deal location and a great view from cottage."

Easy access to nearby 'A' roads. Parking on site. Owner polite and helpful. On the downside, toilet flushing in the adjacent cottage is loud enough to wake you up at night. Lots of exposed copper piping throughout the cottage, a coat of white paint would help.

  • "Best cottage ever!"

! Out of tourist area so fair prices. You have to find out things for yourself in the cottage. Everything you need is there. So it feels like your own home. Owner always willing to help.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location!"

If you love the outdoors and the stunning scenery the highlands have to offer then stay here! Don't be put off by the remote location as everything you could need is easily accessible. The cottage itself is very comfortable and cosy, well equipped with everything you could possibly thing off. Maybe a blind in the bedroom for the sky lights but it didn't bother us too much. The owner is what makes this cottage, very friendly and welcoming with plenty of knowledge too. Will definitely be booking again and look forward to our next stay. :)

  • "Cosy cottage, great base for exploring Creag Meagaidh, Monadliath and Western Cairngorms."

Very chilled getaway, facilities nearby in Newtonmore. Warm reception from host. Not that easy to find on arrival, marked as Lagg on Ordnance Survey maps.

  • "The location was indeed very central and stunning."

Glad it wasn't hot as the window in bedroom was high up out of reach. No real oven so glad we like salads ! Couple of cracked plates found, and cottage could do with spring-clean; basic clean done so that's fine. We had a power cut but this was resolved fairly quickly and the owner, when we finally met, had some good local knowledge on things to see. Plenty of heating and shower etc fine. But romantic, not really!!

  • "The cottage was warm and comfortable, perfect for exploring the surrounding area, the only real problem was find the cottage initially, the postcode in the satnav took us several hundred yards up and around a hill to other premises."

  • "Whilst the cottage itself was lovely, it wasn't clean enough and we transferred to alternative accommodation after two nights there."

This cottage will be great following a deep clean. Also, the pipe noise from next door is really loud, the central heating is controlled by the main house and not from the cottage and the skylights can't be opened. I can appreciate the end of the main holiday season is a tricky time to get things right but we were disappointed by what felt like lack of due care and attention to cleanliness of the property. Location was good and outside terrace garden very pretty.

  • "A nice little cottage."

Constructive: The pan were dirty and required cleaning. Water system is noisy and if someone in the other cottages uses over night then it may wake you up. Needs an oven. Skylight in bedroom has no blind so you will wake up early. Could do with a folder explaining local area and restaurants etc. Positives: Great Location for exploring Quiet despite being on road. No mobile or wifi :-)

This is a charming, rustic and traditional cottage set in quiet and scenic rural surroundings. It had everything we needed, located close to some incredibly beautiful local sights. Lochs, hills, waterfalls, beach, the wolftrax bike trails and many more. The owners were friendly, and full of local info. They couldn't have dome any more to welcome us. We will be back...
