You could walk to Beauly in about 20 to 30 minutes. It is a good base to explore the area. You can get to Inverness or Drumnadrochit in about 20-25 minutes.

  • "Our stay in the house was with family was a awful experience."

.The house is big but not clean and very bad condition. The sofas & mat in hall were dirty not even hovered..The beds in the bedroom were full of dust and no proper bedsheets on the bed we have to shop our own sheets & duvet covers. We came to know the owner of the house was staying in a private property which is attached to the same house and watching us.Please do not leave any valuables in the property as he got access to the house. We checked out on time but our car broke down and were struggling but the owner was drunken and so rude to us and used bad filthy language..I request not to keep this property on any sites as nobody would want to stay in a messy house like that, totally run down and end up with bad experiences..Hope you will consider our feedback and proceed...Thank you

  • "Thanks for the holiday let."

House is nice and spacious and generally comfortable. A couple of feedback points for improvement: A cafetière in the kitchen New pots and pans Curtains for the bedroom windows - Roman blinds not ideal for early sunrises or young children going to bed before dark Access to a shed for bike storage or a covered outside area where they can be stored securely

  • "The cottage itself is very nice."

It is ideally located to go exploring the Scottish Highlands. It let's it self down when you are greeted with a stained sofa in the hall way and the leather settee in the front room has a stain on it. Could do with new pans as the ones available have no non-stick on them, so everything sticks. Becareful of the fridge as where you put the milk on the door is broke and stuck with sellotape. Luckily we noticed before the milk landed on the floor. The instructions for the TV, WiFi etc could do with updating as the TV is HMI3 and not AV5 as instructed. The WiFi code has already been amended in pen. There is a bird feeder on the back fence that attracts rats. Having said that we enjoyed our stay.

About the location

BEAULY

Inverness 12 miles.

Lying on the north bank of the River Beauly, just 12 miles west of Inverness, the village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the Highlands. An excellent location for touring, the village is within easy reach of Loch Ness, the ancient Caledonian pine forests of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar and the coast (sandy beaches 8 miles). The name Beauly comes from the French “beau lieu” or “beautiful place” and the village prides itself on being both scenic and well-kept, having won both Scotland and Britain in Bloom titles. One of Beauly's highlights is the ruined 13th Century priory, around which the village was built. Today the village is famous for its craft-based industries and offers an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer just on the doorstep, Beauly makes an excellent holiday base!
