“Tower house was fantastic, the decor and the building , spectacular with an excellent heating system.”
So spacious and well stocked. Absolutely top marks.
So spacious and well stocked. Absolutely top marks.
“This property is unbelievably stunning.”
We had everything we needed and our hosts Rachel and Rob were extremely welcoming and helpful. Avoch is a beautiful location, and alongside Tower House this made for a fabulous holiday that I will never forget.
“The House, well the Church, was absolutely perfect!”
The owners are very helpful with everything you need. Every room is cozy and great to relax at. Avoch itself is very quiet, but you get everything you need there. Inverness is also near by (Taxi = ~27 GBP) for a little more action. For a whisky tour I recommend to do the Glen Ord Distillery (also by Taxi ~30 GBP).
“Perfect to relax, comfortable holiday home!”
“I loved Tower House when I saw it on the website, and I wasn’t disappointed.”
Before arrival Rachel was very helpful arranging key collection etc. The house was just amazing. The decor was lovely and everything was in the house that was needed. We felt very comfortable in the house and it was nice to have plenty of space to sit and relax. And we all slept extremely well in the most comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to go back.
“We already had high expectations because of the promising presentation on the homepage.”
..and we were not disappointed. Everything was really brilliant! Maybe the only disadvantage of the location is the fact that the hoped beach-walks were not possible (due to the beach) and that there is no Pub in Avoch any more... so you have to drive or stay at home.
“The location was very good for getting to sights and places of interest”
“Tower House is really spectacular.”
The arrangement of rooms is fascinating, and we enjoyed getting together in the lounge at the top, or sitting quietly reading in the chair by the window just below it. Four bathrooms/shower rooms made getting ready on time easy. The kitchen is well equipped, though we did keep running out of mugs! The owners are very helpful and friendly. A most memorable holiday.
“The property was stunning - I have never stayed anywhere like it before.”
Loads of space, with several living areas and en suite bathrooms for every bedroom. Very light and airy and extremely comfortable. Sea view from one of the lounges. All the equipment and facilities you could ask for. Location wise it was perfect for us - Inverness and all the facilities of a city 5 minutes drive in one direction, and peaceful, tranquil fishing villages in the other. Not to mention the fantastic display the dolphins gave us from Chanonry Point! All in all, a fantastic holiday.
“We have just returned from a week at the Tower House and had a fabulous week.”
We were group of 8 and one wee dog. The house exceeded our expectations in terms of layout, facilities and comfort. Rachel and Rob welcomed us and we knew they were in the village should we need anything . Every floor held wee surprises and every room was unique. We had a lovely meal at the Alangrange in the nearby village and had a well earned lunch at the Ploughafterba walk along the railway line from Avoch to Rosemarkie and through the Fairy Glen. We were Also my my enough to see the dolphins at Channery Point. Overall a brilliant week with great walks, a superb house and fabulous memories.
Visited with my wife and 6 friends , lovely location and village with stunning views of the bay from the house . Tower house itself is amazing and beautifully decorated throughout with 4 large double rooms all of which are ensuite, everything you need is supplied including towels and the place is spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable with good quality quilts and pillows for a great nights sleep . There are two big lounges with a wood burner in the main one which makes the place even more homely . Fully fitted kitchen and dining area provides ample space for up to 8 to dine comfortably. Situated appropriately 11 miles from Inverness a car is recommended although busses and taxis are also available. We very much enjoyed our stay at Tower house and look forward to returning .
“Amazing place so comfortable , great views and location, felt warm comfortable , great facilities , lovely owners , no criticisms at all , in fact , best ever rental we have stayed in and I can’t wait to go back .”
Incredible place . Perfect . Wish I could live there permanently . A privilege to have spent a week there. Recommend visit Ullapool, Dornoch, Nairn beach , Rosemarkie beach, Beauly , Dunrobbin castle . Book it and enjoy it
“Wow what an amazing house!”
Utterly exceeded all of our expectations. Owners were so lovely and friendly, even left us some goodies. House is unreal, it’s spacious, decorated beautifully, great location...I could go on.
“This is a lovey, unique property in a great location.”
My only regret is that we did not book it for a longer stay.
My son-in-law booked this New Year weekend at the tower house for seven adults and a baby, amazing property loads of space, well designed that you were never falling over each other large kitchen come dinning room ,plenty games and books in the library if you wish to stay in,immaculately kept, don't think you can give it justice just writing about it have to see it,a big thank you to the owners who were there to greet us on arrival, ages of our party were 6 months up to 68 and a dog.
“- Very well located accommodation for excursions of all kinds.”
- Suitable for several people. - Good infrastructure. - Quiet, for tired evenings.
“Excellent unique accommodation, looking forward to revisiting again”
“Welcoming and friendly hosts.”
Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. High quality furnishings and equipment. Beautiful views, easy walk to the beach. Quiet and tranquil.
“We had a wonderful holiday at tower House.”
It's an amazing place to stay with lots of space and incredibly helpful owners. Our group was five adults and two dogs, and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. It was easy for everyone to find a quiet corner to read or to do a bit of unavoidable work. There are great walks for the dogs, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms have plenty of sofas/chairs and light. Couldn't ask for more!
“This holiday was fantastic.”
..Tower House is amazing.
“WOW,I really mean WOW...”
This place is amazing. Tower House is huge!!! Full of character and an amazing place to stay. Unfortunately this is my Clarkson/Bugatti moment...I will forever be comparing everywhere else to this magical place. Plus add the fact the owners are wonderful, so helpful. Tower House has helped create memories me and my family will never forget.
“Tower House was wonderful!”
It's a vacation in itself without even leaving the property. The owners have gone above and beyond to provide everything you might need. The decorating is very eclectic. Every time I entered a room, I noticed something more. The garden was lovely, with fresh herbs and even ripe raspberries to pick.
“A nice welcome from very friendly owners, Rachel and Rob.”
Beautiful accomodations with lots of space for serveral people, and a fully equipped kitchen to match. We had a wonderful time, even on a very rainy day staying indoors: three TV's and all-access WiFi from every room kept us entertained. We can only highly recommend the Towerhouse...
Rather superb Having stayed in many properties this one is not be missed The huge amount of space one could get lost The views from upstairs lounge breathtaking. Plenty of beds. Enormous number of dvd and books in case it's time to stay in plus the fantastic interior design all helped with providing a superb stay
“The accommodation was 5star, with a large well equipped kitchen, four large bedrooms with ensuite.”
The owners were very welcoming and Kara our golden retriever had a great time as well. Would recommend the Tower for a larger party as there are also three sitting rooms so that you can have quiet if you want. One sitting room had a large log burner which was very homely, we cannot recommend the accommodation highly enough. The area was lovely and quiet but with plenty to do and see.
“Location and accommodation was excellent, ease of booking and friendly staff when contacted”
“AMAZING pet friendly accommodation in beautiful location”
This converted church is huge inside with 4 ensuite double bedrooms and lots of entertaining space all beautifully decorated with Rachel and Rob's quirky interior design. The accomodation attracted us more than the area but we loved the area too. A fabulous accomodation for a family holiday or a group of friends and plenty of room for a dog or two. Children would love the quirkiness and our grown up children certainly did. We loved all the little touches and felt very lucky to stay here. A lovely warm welcome from Rachel and Rob with a bottle of prosecco waiting in the fridge and lots of useful information and little extras that make a self catering accomodation an easy stay. Somehow Rachel and Rob managed to combine drama with cosiness and every little touch you could wish for. A great view too and close to harbour, walks and Chanonry point for a bit of dolphin spotting. It's an easy drive to see the region. We are seasoned self catering accomodation users and this rates top of the rentals where we have ever stayed. Thank you Rachel and Rob.
“What a fantastic holiday rental.”
We enjoyed a very warm welcome from Rachel and Rob to this fantastic property. It is very spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Well equipped with lots of thoughtful extras this property is a better than we expected. The location is good with easy walks from the door and a short drive to beautiful beaches and we were even lucky enough to see dolphins at Chanonry point.
“Amazing property. WOW!!”
Had a fab time in the amazing property. Rob & Rachel made us all feel very welcome. 8 in the party ranging from 9-60 years old and every single person instantly fell in love with this charming building. Couldn't want for anything more. The Station Hotel down the road is lovely for a beer and a game of pool. Went to The Plough Inn a mile or so in Rosemarkie - the landlord collected us all from the property and dropped us back later on so we could all have a drink and watch the football!! Thanks again to Rob & Rachel for a fab long weekend! Quick question - can we move in on a more permanent basis??!!
“Fantastic property in great location”
The Tower House is set in a great location overlooking Avoch harbour and the converted church has been done to a high standard. Despite visiting during a cold spell, it was very comfortable and the feature upstairs sitting room with the log burner was a joy to be in. Great facilities and well equipped. Great for large parties with the number of WC/ showers available. The down stairs bedroom was perfect for my elderly mother as the spiral stairs can be challenging if often travelled however are a big part of the feel of the place. We were greeted by the owners and made to feel welcome, so many nooks and crannies to explore, all tastefully decorated and in sync with the house. A great information pack was provided and nice place to visit map in the library. We would love to come back again if we can and highly recommend.
“Incredible house in a great location”
We visited Avoch with a large group of friends and two dogs, and we were absolutely blown away by the accommodation at the Tower House. There's so much room, so even with seven adults we never felt in each other's pockets. Amazing first impression, being a very large converted church atop a hill with views over the harbour. Brilliantly equipped and very sociable kitchen-diner, comfortable bedrooms, two (very) large lounges and a smaller lounge/library room. Lots of info for local attractions, books, DVDs... everything you could need. Very friendly owners only too happy to share local knowledge. In fact, all the locals we met were really nice. Only minor things to note would be that all of the bedrooms have windows looking out onto the rest of the house, which does mean people can see into your room from a variety of angles. It's no doubt to keep the rooms brights and airy. We all overcame this by hanging coats over the window-frames with coat-hangers, but some frosted glass would be nice. The location is really good, being just a short drive from some other lovely villages along the coast, and several beaches. Not too far into Inverness either, and we all struck out to the Cairngorms and Loch Ness too - easy reach by car, and great fun for the dogs. Would recommend this place to anyone, and would certainly return - there's lots more to explore in this stunning part of the world.
“One not to miss!”
A large unique property, a credit to those who renovated this wonderful building. Decorated to merge traditional and modern with an exotic flair, the Tower House is one not to miss. Rachel & Rob have an eye for interior design which is reflected in each colourful room. Although Tower House sleeps 8 +, we booked for 2 adults and 2 well behaved dogs, everyone should experience time in a property like this with light flooding rooms and fantastic views to the sea. The surrounding villages and places to visit are bountiful, all within a short drive. The locals are very friendly and always welcome a chat. We enjoyed an afternoon drink in the Plough Inn and a quality curry at Gabi's after a long walk. Thanks to Rachel & Rob for their hospitality, we'll see you again.
“The Tower House was a wonderful place to spend our holiday, the property is beautifully decorated and resourced.”
The house is an attraction in itself, with a large homely kitchen and several comfortable living rooms. There is a alot of stairs, but these do afford splendid views down the firth from the upper lounge. The hosts were very helpful, and had thoughtfully added lots of little detail, such as a prepared BBQ and a detailed map of local places of interest really added to our holiday. The house location was great for wildlife with a glimpse of a Pine Martin, and an evening spent wathcing bats. Avoch is a great base for exploring the Black Isle, and the highlands. We would highly recommend this property and location for a wonderful family holiday
“Wow Wow Wow Amazing Holiday Rental”
What a fantastic house in a fantastic location. Very handy for Inverness and access to North or South attractions The house is stunning in a lovely location, it is well looked after and has great character with lots of lovely details. The split levels to the house make it great to spread out in, the kids loved it! Amazing views and the harbour is very close great for dolphin watching. Great owners, Rob and Rachel who were very friendly and helpful, great communication will definitely be back.
“Best vacation house we ever had!”
This house is just awesome if you want to stay near Inverness, Scotland, with quite a few people. We stayed with 2 families, each 2 adults 2 children, so 8 in total. The house has 2 bedrooms with 2 beds AND shower / toilet for each room! Additionally, there is a big kitchen with place enough for everyone (we even had one breakfast with 11 people, since friends came by, a library, a very large living room with a fireplace. This place once was a church, you live in the half with the tower. Inside you just enjoy the vast space and huge windows, otherwise it is not church-like at all, quite modern and nice. From the outside it looks just astonishing. The view from the living room is on the sea. The hosts were very friendly and waited for us at the house, showing everything and making sure everything is alright. Contact via email was very nice. Downsides? Well, Wifi was not the best, but available. There is a huge spiral staircase... if you are afraid of heights you might feel uncomfortable, but I don't think it's an issue.
“Just perfect ...”
Rachel and Rob are very nice people who communicate very well and warmly welcomed me and my family to Towerhouse. Towerhouse itself had everything we were looking for and then some. Grand place, nice rooms, stunning view and overall a great atmosphere. I would very much like to express my recommendation.
