  • "The house is brilliant, upon arrival we had bread, milk and biscuits."

It’s well located in a village with good amenities, which include a butchers, bakers and small CoOp. The house itself is clean, really well equipped and perfect for a large families or two smaller ones. It’s the best house we have ever stayed in for kids equipment. It’s got a playroom, sand area, garden toys, high chair, cots. Lesley was great to deal with and everything was easy. Top marks from us. This is the best cottage we have ever stayed at for someone with kids

  • "This house is perfect for a large family."

Loads of space, loads of utensils. Close enough to all highland attractions (Scotland is more than Glasgow and Edinburgh) so you will have to drive distances but the scenery is worth it, believe me! Would I go back? Definitely definitely definitely. Would I book again with Sykes, always

The house was so well equipped with cutlery, dishes etc that there was never any problem when there were a lot of people. The toys provided for the children was a godsend. Would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

The garden is gorgeous the sand pit the kids loved. Plenty of towels and plenty of things to be able to clean and tidy whilst there. We would definitely come back this home is beautiful Sykes cottages are a pleasure to deal with and we are booking our next holiday soon Thank you so much

  • "We rang and asked Sykes Cottages if there was a cot and high chair and told there was not."

My daughter then went and bought a travel cot only to find there was in fact a cot at the property. Annoyed at waste of money. We were delighted with Benview. The property had everything, very well equipped. Lovely place to stay. Lovely walk to Lily Loch from house was a delight. Better instructions about what to do at end of holiday would be good. Didn’t know what to do with keys or whether to strip beds etc.

The property

This beautiful detached house is located on the outskirts of Muir of Ord, a spacious haven with forest strolls from the doorstep and open grounds, ideal for dog walkers.

Well-suited for families or a group of friends, Benview House was designed with all ages in mind and ensures a memorable holiday experience all-year-round.

The cosy living room is your own little escape after an eventful day; home to a collection of sofas and front-facing views, which bring the outside in.

Continue your evenings in the country cottage kitchen, centred by an island, with lovely French doors which open up to a decked area, should you wish to stroll outside for some fresh air.

The kids will be kept entertained by the delightful snug and everyone can make the most of the garage, which doubles up as a games room, providing guests with a pool table and table football where a fun hour or two can be spent.

Five bedrooms are divided across the retreat; the first double is located on the ground floor and comes impressively with an en-suite spa bath and corner shower.

Three further rooms lie on the split level first floor, all benefitting from access to a Jack and Jill shower room.

A few more steps lead to a super king-size room, elevated by Velux windows and tied together with a thoughtful shower room.

You will be spoilt for choice from one night to the next.

When the sun is shining, wander outside to the garden, enclosed to the rear with pathways leading to common parkland with pond, woodland and walkways, or venture further afield for more to see.

The whole area known as ‘The Black Isle’ has some of the prettiest scenery in Scotland, with stunning glens where flora and fauna abound.

Glen Affric, a National Nature Reserve, has been named the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens, and is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists with quiet tracks leading you off road and deep into the glen.

A journey for the whole family. Please Note: 1 well behaved dog welcome.
