"We made the most of our stay and the cottage was well stocked on arrival."
Living room area, sofa, and kitchen are looking tired but still serviceable so didn't really bother us but felt disappointing for the price. Generally the cottage needs a good clean and lick of paint especially the living area. The bathroom upstairs and bedroom down stairs had doors which didn't open fully which made access difficult for my elderly father. Our bedding, towels and bathroom were clean and comfortable but towels could be larger. The people in other cottages, the permanent residence were friendly and welcoming and the village is a good central point to explore. Overall its a good base for exploring Scotland and although cottage was a little disappointing we still enjoyed our stay.
Hi Thank you for your feedback and your comments are taken on board and appropriate actions are in motion. Much appreciated. Property Owner

Cottage was lovely and plenty of firewood was supplied.

"Beautiful holiday cottage in a lovely area."
Very quiet and peaceful. It was lovely playing games round the log burner at night. So cosy. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. There is a garage with a small shop just a 5min walk away and a co-op in the village. Our only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough! Plenty to do and explore in the area. We will hopefully be back.
So pleased you had a great time. Being in touch with us during your stay was fab. Do come again . Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at the Shieling."
It was comfortable and cosy and the kitchen was well-equipped. A clothes horse would be useful but other than that it was perfect. Thank you
Hello Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed. Clothes horse bought and in cupboard now. Yvonne Property Owner

"Cottage and facilities not really adequate for 6 guests as listed."
Only 4 can be seated comfortably in lounge. Insufficient cupboard space for food storage. Bedrooms small and lacking storage and, especially, any hooks - same in bathrooms. Necessary to buy extra toilet rolls. Only 1 tea towel provided for the week. Downstairs bedroom situated below what we took to be boiler room from which very loud hum issued 24/7.
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry the Shieling did not meet your needs. We have taken your feedback on. I have spoken with the housekeeper to insure adequate toilet roll and tea towels. There is large cupboard in the hall to use like a pantry for food. We will add extra hooks and storage space. The noise is not normally there and we will find out the cause and rectify it. Our previous reviews have been very good and hopefully the changes will rectify the issues you raised. Property Owner

"We used the cottage as a base for hill walking and it was ideal for our needs."
Comfortable beds and 2 bathrooms meant a good nights sleep and no queuing for the facilities- a big plus when making earlier starts. It was the coldest days of the year, well below zero, but we were warm - the log burner is excellent (garage logs are expensive, if you have some at home then bring a big bag). The owner offered to keep the heating on during the day, a very generous gesture, but as we were out we merely tweaked the hours. We cooked in every night and we felt the kitchen was well equipped (with a couple of sharp knives
Thank you Property Owner
