  • "Evelyn is a wonderful host."

The cottage and the area is lovely with views and all the amenities. Would definitely recommend number 11 to people who are looking for a cozy cottage to attend their holidays. Thank you for making our trip memorable Evelyn.

  • "The property is every bit as beautiful as portrayed in the listing photos - perhaps even more so."

It is not only beautifully appointed, but practical as well. The kitchen has every tool necessary for cooking anything, the appliances are top of the line and modern, and the beds are very comfortable. The jacuzzi is easily big enough for four. We had pretty foul weather (end of Feb. - to be expected!) and appreciated the nice warm soak. The area around Beauly and Inverness is great for day trips. But being old folks, we opted to spend a couple days "in", reading and enjoying the foul weather before the Swedish fire place.

It was absolutely beautiful. The little village had an old school, with gifts of all sorts, an Abbey ruin with information on steel plates on the walls. There was a butchers, cake shop, Coop and clothes and a charity shop. It had all you required and was delightful. We would love to go back to Beauly and to the cottage. It was so spacious and delightful. We could not fault a thing..Thank you Evelyn and Hubby for allowing us to spend our holiday in your immaculate holiday home. XX

  • "It would be useful to include in the information regards the induction hob."

A set of sharp knives along with standard cooking utensils would be of benefit and a cheese grater not just a Parmesan grater. Limited selection of cooking pans. Various cups with chips need to be removed/replaced. Beer/long drinks glassware limited, a change of towels midweek would be a benefit. Television reception in lounge was intermittent.

Thank you for your comments. I was disappointed to hear you were unhappy with cooking utensils as many previous guests have commented on how well the house was equipped. I have checked the mugs and removed the one of 15 mugs provided that has a chip on the base. The cheese grater is in the bottom drawer with the pans and the instructions for hob are in the guest information folder. I was not aware of any issue with tv reception but will check that out. We couldn’t fault a thing. Even the abundant outside space was well laid out and well maintained - so unusual in holiday properties. This does however leave us further mistrusting Sykes’ quality assurance/tick ratings. Our first booking through Sykes was in Sept 21. Like No.11, that property was graded by Sykes as “4 tick”. The disparity between the two properties cannot be over-stated - in terms of appearance, presentation and quality - and Sykes’ grading of No.11 does it a severe injustice.

Good location near to shops, and lots to do in the surrounding area. It was only two of us staying so we had plenty of space, but even with 6 people in here, it's a lovely size of a property with plenty amenities for larger groups (e.g. two fridges!). Having the hot tub was lovely (with robes to wear out there) and watching fireworks from it was an absolute treat. The host was incredibly helpful with questions I had both before arriving and once we were there. The only two small things (very small, we had an excellent week) was that it was a little chilly on arrival (though I wonder if that was because all of the windows were opened for cleaning it because of Covid) and the hot tub wasn't heated up on the evening that we arrived. We would definitely stay again though, highly recommended!
