  • "This was our second visit this year to the cottage."

We wanted for nothing during our stay. As it was November, the heating was more than adequate and the open fire in the front room was laid ready for us should we want to light it. Touches like home made cake for us on arrival, sample teas etc added to the experience. Add to that, the beautiful countryside; what more could you want.

The property was spotlessly clean and in a fabulous location. We especially enjoyed watching the wildlife from the sun room. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the addition of a welcome tray with tasty flapjacks was much appreciated after a long journey. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be returning.

Comfortably furnished and with plenty of logs for the open fire (we didn't need it as the central heating excellent) also a good selection of books, games and DVD,s Smart TV and Wi-Fi good. There are everchanging views from every window especially in the Sun / Dining room. It's just a short scenic drive for shops and amenities. We were quite content to just sit back and relax and watch the wild life and the comings and goings of life on a busy farm but there is plenty of information for those who are more adventurous. We had a lovely holiday and hope to come back again. A & C March 2023

Plenty to do, whether exploring by road, bike or by foot. Owners very friendly, and on hand next door if needed. The cottage was generally well maintained and very comfortable albeit could do with some modernisation with some of the furniture tired. It was generally clean throughout albeit the cooker hood could do with some attention. The heating oil ran out after a couple of days but the owner very quickly tried to deal with this with additional oil and was very apologetic. This didn’t affect us as we had the open fire in the evening and hot water via the immersion heater.

The only improvement (as others have also said) would be the TV could do with replacing and a working DVD player would be useful, though we got around the latter using the PS2 that was there. The mattress was very hard, though this is a personal choice, some may like it like that but we ended up buying a mattress topper to make it more comfortable.

Archie came and introduced himself just after we arrived and told us they were just across the field if we needed anything but didn't disturb us in anyway. The farm has an honesty box selling fresh free range eggs etc. We can vouch for them being free range as we watched the chickens running around the field every morning. The views are amazing in all directions and from every window. It's so peaceful and quiet, you would never guess it's only 10 mins from A9, so easy to get around. 15mins to Newtonmore. 20mins to Kingussie. We drove to Kingussie one morning and ended up driving a wee bit more and a wee bit more because of the wonderful scenery until we found ourselves in Fort William. Didn't mean to do that. Aviemore is just a short drive North. Dalwhinnie a short drive south. Woke every morning to the sound of swifts and sheep. Could have spent the day being entertained by the antics of the swifts. Lots of really nice coffee shops with fresh home baking.
