  • "The property was decorated tastefully and was very comfortable."

The hosts were exceptionally accommodating with regards to the storage of our bikes and the welcome gift pack was a kind touch. Our only gripe was that the additional facilities such as the sauna and laundry incurred an additional cost which would have been good to know in advance or be included in the original costings. Other than that, we had a really lovely visit and would definitely return again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback and you found the cottage comfortable. Sorry to hear that you were unhappy that the laundry and sauna were an additional cost. We are unable to include these facilities in the original costings as some guests don't use them at all and others use them a lot so we feel it is fairer to charge on a usage basis and not a blanket cost for everyone. I will contact Sykes with regards to making it clearer that the laundry and sauna facilities are an extra cost. We do let guests use the mountain bikes, games room, gym, golf practice area and equipment free of charge, so it is only the laundry and sauna that are an extra charge. Kind regards, Adam and Leanne Property Owner

  • "The cottage we stayed in - Douglas Fir - was comfortable and cosy, important as we arrived during a cold March."

The facilities within the cottage; heating, log fire, hot water, kitchen facilities etc were already setup for us so we had nothing to do but just unpack and start exploring the countryside. It was clear the cottage(s) are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness between guests - even allowing that dogs are allowed. A couple of times we needed extra fire logs but this was sorted within minutes by Adam. All in all we had a very welcome break here and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Adam and Leanne are always around and on hand in case there are any issues which - to be honest - we didn't have. Highland Cottages generally is a great jumping off point to explore the Highlands and their close proximity to the A9 is actually an advantage if you want to go further afield than the local walks (a stone marking the centre of Scotland is within easy walking distance). The surroundings are stunning enough that you could even stay the whole day around the cottage and just enjoy the views.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. It's lovely to hear that you and your family enjoyed the cottage and surroundings so much. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards, Adam & Leanne Property Owner
