  • "Lovely little bungalow, master bed was soooo comfortable, had a really good night's sleep every night."

If you're looking for the microwave it is integrated into the top oven, a lot of people have mentioned in reviews that there is no microwave, it's just a case of looking properly. Very good heating system, we had to keep turning it down because it was so efficient. Plenty of walks and bike rides nearby and on our early evening walks we saw a fair few deer. It's a very quiet peaceful location with a co op , chippy and pizza place 10 minutes walk away. I can definitely recommend the pizzas from Pizzariach!

  • "Firstly Aviemore is an amazing place so much to do, this house is 20 /30 minutes walk from centre but has an excellent wee shopping centre 10 minutes walk, house could do with good clean, windows and entrance haven’t been cleaned for some time, all the furniture beds etc were nice an clean but house was let down with cobwebs and dead beasties round the windows otherwise house is great."

Maybe a microwave in kitchen would be good we really missed not having one. Great space for two cars and large shed for safe keep of bikes. Overall great wee holiday home but just needs to sort few things and would give it 5star.

  • "Had a great week."

Bungalow very comfortable. Easy access onto Speyside Way, great for running in the morning! Aviemore is great location if you enjoy mountain walking. No microwave.

  • "House very tidy and clean, however was smaller and very dark when you got inside."

The surrounding area was a bit off putting on arrival but no problems throughout duration of stay. Good place to stay for families who need the house as a base in Aviemore. Host was very informative and sent a detailed email with all of the details for the house. There needs to be a warning regarding the heat of the kitchen taps. They are very hot.

  • "Cottage was very comfy and as described."

On arrival there wasn't any washing up cloth/ sponge and no starter dishwashing tablets which made the first 24 hours a bit tricky until we were able to get to a shop.

We have stayed in several Sykes cottages and re visited this one. Took out grand children for the first time and loved the secure garden. Had a fab holiday. Thank you.

  • "Very much enjoyed our stay here!"

The cottage is well equipped and is modern in furniture and decor. The kitchen is well equipped with every utensil you need! Lovely large American fridge-freezer which also supplies iced water, ice cubes and crushed ice (same as one wee have at home, so a nice surprise!). Believe microwave is incorporated in grill, but we didn’t use it. We only used the main bedroom but it is of a good size and having an en-suite was a bonus! Bed is super king and very comfortable! Living room has 2 leather couches and a single chair. A large wall-mounted Smart TV is fitted which has a limited amount of channels, but iPlayer is available. A problem with heating was quickly sorted out directly with the owner. The cottage is in a quiet residential area and has a lovely large secluded back garden.

Bedroom were fine, cooker was filthy and unable to use either grill or oven. No microwave. Decor needs updating. Nice location.

  • "This holiday cottage is perfect!"

We were my wife and I, mother in law and our 3 year old son. Our double room was really comfy with a very generous sized en suite and powerful shower! Our son loved having bunk beds and there was an extra pull out bed for the floor in there too. Mother in law said her room was comfy and warm. We parked the car in the in the carport which kept in clear of snow and ice. The kitchen, dining room and sitting were are all a good size. Kitchen had ovens, grill, toaster kettle, washing machine and dish washer. I’d recommend having a car as the town centre is about 30-45 min walk and the buses aren’t very frequent. The house backs onto a golf course so the scenery is unobstructed and it’s a lovely quiet place to be.

  • "The lockable bike storage was very useful."

Heating was easy to use and we were very cosy. Good size bedrooms and internet TV were all appreciated. Heated airer was especially useful for drying clothes and towels. Overall very pleased with the accommodation and would stay here again.

  • "Small details but important: there was no microwave although one was listed - the can opener was totally useless - the heating failed in the dining room, bathroom and small hallway - the dining room table had loose legs and the chair seats need to be secured and the dishwasher did not seem to clean properly."

There were no instruction leaflets to be found on appliances. Apart from this wee had a very enjoyable holiday and the cottage was comfortable and homely which is most important

  • "The bungalow did not look welcoming when we pulled up, could have looked so much nicer if windows and door was clean."

Inside was perfect in the way the place was laid out but again when you walked into the porch it was grubby and had a cut out in the floor for a door matt, but the matt was not the right thickness and so it was a trip hazard.Everywhere was very dusty ,I know places get dusty but this wasn’t fresh dust. Floors were very dirty; sheets were clean and beds comfortable, towels clean, no blind in the bathroom so you had to dodge the neighbour going out to his car. No instructions on how to use the cooker, kitchen and dining room nice, living room nice but all could look so much nicer with just a little more care.

  • "Lovely cottage in a fantastic area, had ample space for 4 adults and a 2 year old."

Found on arrival that the cottage did not appear to have been checked/cleaned in the morning as stated by the person taking care of the property as post still all over floor, fridge switched off with food still in, no heating on which made property really cold and uninviting with very complex operating system which we arent familiar with, edges of rooms particularly en suite were quite dirty! A simple instruction/operations manual would have been handy with bin info, heating/water info etc. Also did not find ironing board until last day as had been placed behind dining room curtain!!! Would definitely consider staying here again, but feel there could be a couple of areas improved!

  • "As a self catering cottage, it lacked a few basics."

Usually expect to find some tea, coffee, salt and pepper etc. There was also not much toilet roll or hand soap. For a longer stay this is not so much a problem, but when only staying a few nights it is a pain to have to go and stock these things. Apart from that the house was great, very warm clean and comfortable.

  • "We stayed at this house over the new year and we had an absolutely swell time."

The kids didn’t want to leave when we had to leave. It was really clean and well thought out, making our stay comfortable. I was there with my wife and two kids so there was ample space for us. The location was perfect as it was really close to the city centre and the nearby shop made it really convenient to just dash for anything we needed. The owner was just at the other end of the phone if we needed anything and was friendly. I think we have found our secret hideout in Aviemore and will definitely recommend this place to anyone with a family.
