  • "A charming cottage , beautifully furnished , comfortable and cosy ."

Situated in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk to all the amenities of Dornoch . Thoughtful touches by owner, from tissues in bedrooms to fresh flower posy , tea tray set and the best welcome pack to greet our arrival . An excellent stay in this beautiful area.

  • "This is the second time we've stayed in this cottage."

The location is perfect. The building is lovely as is the garden. So peaceful. The decor is very tasteful with some quality antique furniture. The only two things we would say negatively: the fridge is too small to accommodate a week's worth of shopping. The nearest supermarket is ten miles away so we wanted to stock up. Not possible. Perhaps an extra fridge could be accommodated in the hall cupboard where the washing machine is? The second issue is more challenging to fix! The sloping ceilings in the bedrooms. You have to be constantly on alert not to bang your head as you get in and out of bed or inch gingerly towards the bedside tables. Perhaps painting these parts of the ceiling bright colours? I think people with physical limitations might struggle here. Other than that, a wonderful place for a quiet, relaxing holiday near the centre of beautiful Dornoch. Thanks.

  • "Everything was excellent."

You should explain the bathroom situation in your listing. I was told there was a "shower" closet" and was imaging a 3' x 3' bathroom. The bathroom was fine and the half bath downstairs a bonus versus explanation. Appreciated the goodie basket.

Thank you for your comment I will look at the wording on the listing Best wishes Margaret Property Owner

  • "Glenmuir Cottage looked lovely on the website but it exceeded our expectations."

I'm picky, but could find nothing wrong, big or small. It is a beautiful, well appointed, tastefully decorated, cosy yet elegant house. Everything has been thought of for comfort and convenience. The location is very quiet yet central. The garden is lovely. The parking space is very handy. We will definitely book again. Thanks to the owner.

  • "Beautiful cottage, clean, cozy and one of the best stocked places we have rented."

The owners have pretty much thought of everything, down to torches and extra long matches and there were plenty of cleaning and sanitising products provided. Oh and of course a corkscrew!! The welcome hamper was much appreciated and enabled us to make a cuppa immediately on arrival rather than having to unpack first! The garden is a sun trap and we managed our morning coffee out there a couple of days, not bad for early March! Our bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding and pillows if required. The shower was decent and the huge heated towel rail meant your massive bath towels (they really were huge!) were toasty warm for you when you got out! Personally, we would have preferred a full sized ironing board rather than the table top one provided but it was in good condition and the iron worked very well and had a nice clean sole plate which hasn’t always been the case in some places we’ve rented. We didn’t use the living room at all, preferring to sit in the comfy chairs by the kitchen windows in the evenings just reading, snoozing and enjoying the odd wee dram! There was however, a cabinet full of books in the living room as well as a TV and looking at the titles there would have been something suitable for most guests. Location wise, it was lovely to be able to forget about the car some days and just take a walk along the beach or around Dornoch. It’s a beautiful place and the cottage was the perfect base for us. Many thanks.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I am glad that you had an enjoyable week and good weather. Kind regards Margaret. Property Owner

  • "Felt very quiet and secluded despite being close to town centre and very near the nearest shop and chinese takeaway."

Despite having taken all cleaning materials we found that these were supplied. Mixed messages in literature about whether double or king size beds and only one pillow per person. Difficult access for larger people down window side of bed... Some banged heads in darkness. These are minor issues in a clean, comfortable, well-furnished and spacious (open plan ground floor) accommodation. Would definitely go back.

Only a 5 minute walk to town centre, with plenty of shops , restaurants And of course the gorgeous beach. Only down point there are no facilities at the beach and not enough parking for disabled people.
