We had an amazing holiday, so much lovely scenery to walk, cycle and drive in, and the weather was kind during too. We will hopefully be back to Bridgend House in the near future.

It has been very thoughtfully and creatively fitted out. It is next to a busy road which might worry a light sleeper but we found the double glazing dealt well with any noise. The village has a supermarket and restaurants and there's easy access to some wonderful walks and bicycle trails.

The only thing I would say is the kitchen could be a bit better equipped e.g no big dishes for making lasagna and no cafeteria or water jug.

  • "We had a fantastic holiday at Bridgend House."

The house is spotless, well equipped, well situated for the deli and the hotel who provided excellent meals to take out during Covid restrictions. The new local Scotmid is really well stocked too. There's some lovely gift shops as well. There's also an EV charger just across the road too. And to top everything the hot tub is perfect. So many little touches as well. My son was delighted to find bird seed to fill up the feeders which were so busy! The garden was perfect for our German Shepherd who enjoyed his bones out on the grass. What can I say, the holiday was worth every penny and a really welcome break in a difficult year.

It is the first time in using Sykes and feel extremely confident to use again. Bridgend House itself is of a very high standard with all you could possibly need and then some. Are expectations were exceeded as the photos just don't do this place justice. For us it offered a wide range of accommodation that we needed, with plenty of space, and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. It was extremely comfortable and clean and it had everything there that we could possible need. Everything was either new or had been well looked after or added with thought and care. We had 3 older boys with us, home from their various Uni's for Easter, and they each enjoyed their stay. Having various eateries, bars and deli's to hand for everything from a snack to a cooked breakfast or a pint in the evening worked great for us. Lovely to just stroll out from the house with everything on your doorstop but to also find the house to still be private, quiet and ideally situated. The house is in the perfect location, it is beautifully fitted out and the garden and hot tub were just the icing on the cake! The hot tub was an absolute winner. We were lucky to have a glorious week weather wise but even if the clouds come over or the rain comes down, the hot tub is still a winner! The location was great for visiting the whole area around Inverness, Loch Ness, St Augustus, Fort William or further afield and there are lots of lovely local walks and routes around the beautiful countryside near the house. We would all love to stay again if we were visiting the area any time in the future and we can all thoroughly recommend it.

About the location

Inverness 14 miles.

The village of Drumnadrochit lies at the head of Urquhart Bay on the shore of Loch Ness and is the centre of the Loch Ness Monster tourism industry in Scotland. In an area of great natural beauty and magnificent scenery, Drumnadrochit is home to the popular Loch Ness Monster exhibition, a village green, a shop and post office, several cafes, gift shops, pubs, restaurants and a tea room. The Great Glen Way, a 73 mile, long distance path running from Fort William to Inverness, passes through the village, while within easy reach are the historic ruins of Urquhart Castle. Just 14 miles away is the City of Inverness, the “Capital of the Highlands”, boasting museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, while just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust), the site of the last major battle fought on British soil.

Note: As from the 24th May the local Council will be starting flood defense works to the back of the property along the river bank. Unfortunately this will mean the bottom garden will be out of bounds. Work will be Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm and will go on for 34 weeks, due to end January 2022. This may cause some noise disruption. The hot tub will be moved from the bottom garden to the top patio.
