    Cottage has lots of space. Windows in the roof on both sides allow for very good ventilation even on warm nights. Cottage is very well appointed with everything that you could want for a week away. Communication with owner was excellent.

The property

From the cottage guests can take the woodland walk leading to Black Rock Gorge, a dramatic box canyon which featured in the Harry Potter film Goblet of Fire, remember to take your camera!

A walk up to the Fyrish Monument near Alness makes a great day out and the views from the top are superb.

With Inverness so close, a trip into this vibrant city is a must, and on the outskirts is Culloden Battlefield with its award-winning visitor centre and atmospheric battlefield walk.

Everything is within easy reach, be it the Malt Whisky Trail, the Cairngorms National Park or the fabulous beaches in Nairn.

Evanton is a small highland village in Easter Ross situated 17 miles north of the capital city of the Highlands, Inverness and a mile from the shores of the beautiful Cromarty Firth coast. The village boasts good local services all within easy reach, such as a village inn providing good quality pub food, a shop and Post Office. Evanton is very well situated for exploring the Highlands and has excellent golf courses very close by. The village attracts walkers, cyclists and wildlife spotters who all enjoy the fabulous unspoilt woodlands. Nearby is the Fyrish Monument, a monument built in 1782 on Fyrish Hill (Cnoc Fyrish), near Alness which is also home to the Dalmore Whisky Distillery. The bustling market town of Dingwall is situated just 7 miles away at the head of the Cromarty Firth and offers enhanced services and facilities with a pretty high street and great selection of shops.
