About the location

FORTROSE

Inverness 16 miles.

Fortrose is a small town on the south coast of the Black Isle, between Avoch and Rosemarkie, with many Victorian buildings and the remains of a cathedral dating from 1250AD. Fortrose has a small selection of shops, a few tearooms and restaurants, and a pretty harbour reached by narrow twisting roads. Fortrose is a great touring base, only 16 miles from the city of Inverness, and also within wonderfully easy reach of the dolphin-friendly Moray Firth, sandy beaches, great golf courses and the spectacular scenery of the Highlands.
