  • "We had a great holiday at this property."

The house was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The facilities at the house were first class and the hot tub was the “cherry on top”. The location was great for trips to the many seaside towns in the area and for country walks with our dog. And that view from the house and garden just has to be seen to be believed!! We spoke with Grant the owner a few times and he was very nice, helpful and accommodating. The welcome pack was a nice touch and appreciated. Although we had a mixed bag of weather it didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the house in the slightest. When it was wet and miserable outside the log burner fire and comfortable lounge were so relaxing and when it was warm and nice outside the garden furniture and that view really were worth the drive alone. Would highly recommend this lovely, spacious and private property to anyone and will definitely be looking to go again sometime in the future.

The cottage was spotless and beautifully decorated for Christmas, even had a real Christmas tree and the welcome hamper was really thoughtful also containing selection boxes for the kids. House and garden very child and dog friendly with amazing views and excellent location. Owners very lovely and excellent communication with them - they even had the log burner lit for our arrival. Also a huge thank you to them for helping when our car broke down - they went out of their way to help us fix it and a big thank you to them. The property

On an elevated position overlooking The Highlands, Sealladh Mor is a detached, single-storey cottage on the outskirts of Rogart, Sutherland.

Sealladh Mor translates to Big View in Gaelic, and it certainly does live up to it with panoramic view of the beautiful Scottish Highlands from the doorstep.

The cottage is a welcoming base for two couples or a group of four to explore a breath-taking region of Scotland, complete with a hot tub, utility and woodburning stove.

Park up in the off-road parking space and take a moment to admire the sweeping countryside views of your rural retreat.

Step inside to find a reception area with hooks for coats and a bench to take your boots off and make yourself at home; your first stop will surely be the kitchen/diner to pop the kettle on, stock up the cupboards and get ready to rustle up home-cooked meals using the contemporary facilities.

Set the dining table for four and enjoy a meal together with views out to the mountains, or why not open the French doors to let the outside in?

There's a decking area and lawn to make the most of your idyllic holiday setting, whether that's a cold glass of wine at sunset, reading in the sunshine or sinking into the hot tub for the ultimate de-stress.

If you're visiting in the colder months, a spacious sitting room offers a sofa, two chairs, a Smart TV and woodburning stove to snuggle up after the day's adventures; you'll still get fabulous views from the large windows for a bright and airy space to relax on your holiday.

Extra seating can be found in the snug with a Smart TV to savour some peace and quiet!

After trekking The Highlands and wandering the countryside, throw muddy walking gear into the utility's laundry facilities, before hanging your towel on the family bathroom's heated towel rail and enjoying a soak in the bath or a hot shower.

Two well-appointed bedrooms await sleepy heads, one of which has a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room for added privacy.

Get to know your surroundings by venturing into the open countryside or joining the Highland Wild Cat Trails, which have been designed for all levels of experience with different routes suitable for families and novices through to more technical trails for experienced mountain bikers.

Also nearby is the Ben Bhraggie Monument Walk, which offers picturesque views over the coastline on your walk up to the summit.

Take the scenic drive into the village of Golspie, a lovely coastal resort that offers a bustling high street and excellent local amenities, including a number of eateries and a long sandy beach, which provides superb angling opportunities.

Those avid golfers will enjoy a round at the Golspie Golf Club, offering a great mix of links and parkland, while history buffs will be drawn to the Dunrobin Castle and Gardens, an imposing structure with a museum and falconry.

About the location

ROGART

Golspie 9.5 miles; Brora 14.6 miles.

The small village of Rogart lies in the county of Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. The village is known for once being the home to Major Andrew MacDonald, who fought into the French and Indian War. The village is also home to the Rogart Railway station, which has become something of an informal outdoor museum of railway memorabilia. Within the village, there is a convenience store, petrol station, a Parish church and a traditional Scottish pub. The nearby coastal village of Golspie is well worth a visit, offering a long sandy beach, which attracts many visitors in all weather conditions, along with a thriving high street lined with independent businesses, restaurants, pubs and cafés. Rogart makes a charming base for touring this beautiful part of Scotland.
