  • "Superb cosy drey sitting in amongst the wonderful countryside."

Red Squirrel central, beautiful to watch them go about their daily business right outside the window. The balcony and log burner were also major plusses of the visit. Attentive owners who cater for your every need. I will be returning

  • "Just returned from an amazing week at Laggan Drey."

What a beautiful house in a stunning location! The house itself is light and bright in the day with fantastic views across the Spey Valley. By afternoon and evening with the log fire lit the place is extremely warm and cosy. The hamlet of Laggan has a lovely little coffee shop which is worth a visit. The Drey is well situated for some beautiful woodland walks nearby as well as being within easy reach of other amenities - Aviemore and Ben Nevis for skiiing! Loch Insh for watersports, the Highland Wildlife Park and the small town of Newtonmore is 8 miles away for groceries.

There was lots of pans, plates and glasses. Though a few more oven trays would have been useful. The underfloor heating made it warm and cosy even though it was October. The wildlife that could be seen from the balcony and from the kitchen windows were amazing. It was a lovely place to stay and we all enjoyed it.

  • "This is a perfect holiday venue; both the simple but tastefully appointed house and the situation, with its views and proximity to even more spectacular scenery and wildlife."

It isn't a cheap property but we would all have loved to stay for another week. The owners have created a comfortable, scandi-feeling house that was a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. Efficient wood burner, loads of hot water in a strong shower, big white towels and clean white bedding are right up our alley! The couple of suggestions that I had -a lamp or two for ambience and late evening jigsaw-puzzling, and a non stick pan for scrambled eggs- I was told would be acted upon. (The quirky microwave was also an entertainment!) There is a delightful 'Coffee Bothy' plus photography gallery at the end of the road for general items and deliciously warm bread and croissants in the morning. Bliss. Fight to stay here...
