Nice meeting Ronnie the guy who built it and seeing his photos, lovely bloke. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again ❤️ Didn't catch anything on the river

Beautiful house and lovely scenery just at its doorstep. Our stay was during the time when the weather was not good but even with the snow outside we were kept entertained, as there was a games room with xbox, perfect for the kids, each room had its own TV and a lot more to keep us entertained. We will definitely be booking during the summer holidays to enjoy exploring the beautiful scenery just outside the house. A must go to place

Bit short on hot water though, we only managed three hot showers each morning!

  • "Had a great time and was best weather in country during Storm Arwen."

Out walking each day. Great playpark across the bridge- must bring children next time. Quite far from anywhere to eat but can reach Ullapool and Dingwall for a bit of retail therapy or tourist sites/sights. The hardest thing was getting there. Out of 5 cars 3 went by sat nav directions and ended up on wrong side of a pedestrian only bridge. Listen to your host directions!!

  • "This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed on holiday."

The cottage was spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need and we really appreciated the nice welcome basket. The location is fantastic - the bridge right out the front door with lots of great trails for hiking. There's a fantastic playground across the bridge which helped keep the kids easily entertained. The wood stove was a great way to start each cool morning. The internet was just fast enough to have a few of the kids streaming at the same time. There's an amazing mud room with washer and dryer and the game room is another easy way to keep the family entertained. There's plenty of parking for cars and the area is very quiet at night. En suite bathrooms are terrific and spacious and the sauna was a relaxing bonus. This was such an amazing place to stay we may have to come back! It made a great home base for exploring the Scottish Highlands.

  • "Fantastic property, finished to a very high standard, it exceeded all of our expectations."

Much larger than it appears in the pictures. We met the owners, who are very friendly and extremely helpful. This place is perfect for walks, the scenery is absolutely outstanding, some fantastic walks on your doorstep just step straight out of the cottage, you can walk up the River Blackwater, through the many forestry tracks, there is a nice woodland playground for children just over the bridge less than 100 metres away. We saw salmon leaping at Roogie Falls - 3 miles down the road, Inverness and Loch Ness just a short car journey away. Absolutely wonderful place..

  • "We booked Tigh Na Drochit for a family get together over the New Year."

We have family who live in nearby Dingwall so had an idea about the area but it more than met our expectations. The house and surrounding area is spectacular. The house is ideal for a family gathering. Each bedroom is en suite and a large communal area with well equipped kitchen and living area met our every need. In addition there are 2 more sitting areas for quiet time or playing games. The games room is an added bonus and the utility room is an ideal place to clean down muddy dogs. With lovely walks on the doorstep and a children's play area nearby I can't think of a better place to stay. Thank you Lisa we will definitely be coming again

  • "Tigh Na Drochit is an absolutely beautiful house, and the surrounding countryside is breath-taking."

Ten of us had a magical Christmas in the house and each one of us was so sad to leave. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. In fact, the photographs on the website do not do it justice. There are some wonderful walks to be had along the black water and given there is no light pollution, the stars in the evening are indeed a sight to behold. Go and have a wonderful time, but not next Christmas please as we will be there again!!

Place was a tardis,we had an extended family and had plenty of room to spread out,in laws were catered for and children enjoyed seperate front rooms with large smart tv's and games rooms from adults. Scenery from front rooms breath taking,i cannot impress how amazing this cottage is and will certainly be booking again. None of us wanted to leave, truely majical place with all the home comforts catered for.

  • "For a family of nine adults, this was the perfect holiday home."

Very spacious (the photos don't do the rooms justice) yet with a number of cosy spots for us all to get together and eat, play games or watch some TV. The secluded location by a rapid river was idyllic and allowed us all to do some exploring. It also proved to be an ideal base for touring the northern Highlands with all coasts within easy reach. With all the comforts of home, Tigh na Drochit welcomed us back after a long day out. The sauna soothed some aching muscles! A big thank you to owners Lisa and Craig for providing spotless accommodation and responding quickly to a few queries. We would love to stay again.
