Garden could do with a wee bit tlc but this did not affect our stay. I would stay again and recommend to my friends :)

  • "Burnside is a great place to stay."

It is very spacious and well-equipped. It was a shame that the dishwasher was still not working, though the housekeeper informed us that a replacement is due soon. The garden is large and sunny, with a lovely open outlook. The only thing that needs a little attention is the patio, to remove the weeds that are growing tall. Overall, it's a super place for a holiday.

  • "This cottage was an excellent choice as a base for exploring, by car, the far Northwest of Scotland and the Geo Park in particular."

The home had everything we required for our six night stay and was very comfortable. The housekeeper was friendly and helpful as was the gardener and his wife and other neighbors. The property lost one star because the dishwasher was broken and there were no instructions for finding the wifi code, operating the hob and stove, and operating the washing machine. We were from the USA and unfamiliar with how these UK appliances worked.

  • "Burnside was perfect for our requirements."

It was spacious and well laid out, to accommodate the 5 of us perfectly! If there was one tiny comment, it would be another comfortable chair in the lounge! We all like to spread out! We were going to let you know that there was a dog poo in the garden, which we thought had been left, though the garden was neatly cut. Then we were sitting one afternoon, when the cutest little dog came wandering round the garden like he was very familiar with it! We realised then who the culprit of the random poo was!

  • "The house has everything you would want, a home from home."

Very clean and tidy, lots of local information available. It was larger than we expected and a big bonus although not listed to have a dish washer. A nice touch was to find essentials to make a drink and something to eat on arrival. The housekeeper who lives locally popped along to make sure we had everything we needed and to sorted out the tv

  • "Excellent property to explore the north of Scotland."

Clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Could do with an info pack, had to Google how to use cooker and ask neighbours about bin collection. Also if arriving late there’s not even a pint of milk to make a cup of tea. Minor things I know but important.

  • "We had a wonderful week in Lairg, the cottage was fantastic, and located in the centre (crossroads of the north) of the Northern Highlands which made it easy for us to travel around most of the NorthCoast 500 route."

Lairg itself is a lovely wee village with such friendly residents. The cottage had plenty of space which allowed us as a family never to feel on top of each other, the additional lounge area on the first floor allowed extra space- not that we needed it! The cottage was spotless on arrival and bed linen and towels were immaculate. The huge kitchen and dining table meant we sat as a family in the evenings, all the utensils you could need to cook meals. I can’t wait to return to Lairg - if only I could afford to buy this cottage.
