  • "Lovely lodge and setting."

Lots and lots of room and space. Comfy beds and very clean. View over the highlands lovely. Only rated 4 star as felt that it was just short of being completed with the finishing touches, felt like it needed completion and a bit empty. An addition of a BBQ area and a hot tub could make it spectacular.

Just a short drive to Inverness and all its amenities but it still felt rural and quiet. Lovely forest walks from the house.

  • "Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Troya."

Our son and granddaughter came over from the states for a visit and we had 8 of us all together. The house is beautiful, the views are amazing. There was a lot for the little ones to do. It is close enough to Loch Ness and Inverness and Tesco or Asda is just a 10 min drive away. We would highly recommend a visit. Our only complaint would be the beds. We found them uncomfortable. That doesn't mean others will. We just want to say thank you for a wonderful holiday!

  • "We had a wonderful time at Troya last weekend, everything was perfect, the children and toddlers loved all the outdoor and indoor toys provided, and the adults were able to relax while keeping an eye on them with the bifold doors etc."

it is such a bright but cosy home. We loved the large kitchen diner with more than enough seating around the table for meals. The views were spectacular too. We would not hesitate to recommend Troya and hope we can return soon.

  • "We had a really great stay."

Very spacious house inside and out. My nieces loved the toys that were there and the animals in the surrounding area. We all love our stay with plenty of places to visit just a short car journey away. The following minor things would not stop us booking the house again but we just thought we would highlight to the owner….a mirror over the sinks and towel rails in the bathroom, rearranged the sofas in lounge so that everyone can see the tv at night and the views outside during the day and the induction hub was not the easiest to use and became frustrating at times. Again these would not stop us coming again they are just things for the owner.

  • "The best self catering holiday home we have stayed at by far!"

We loved everything about this place but most of all how modern, clean and spacious it was. The house is accommodating for everyone. My nephew is 3 and a half was in his element being outside and running around the massive garden, it was brilliant to have it all enclosed as well. He loved playing with the outdoor toys in the little shed at the side of the house. All of us adults loved the kitchen/dining space, it was amazing to have the patio doors open and really invite the amazing countryside in. The living room is so comfortable for nighttime and we felt it was almost soundproof. So when the kids went to bed we could sit in there and relax with the bifold doors open enjoying the sunset. All of the rooms are comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes. Only thing about the beds for us was the size. My husband is 6ft5 and struggled a little with a smaller bed but for a few days away it’s not a massive deal. If you’re looking to book Troya then do it. There’s nothing you won’t enjoy or love about this place.

  • "This house is brilliant."

Spacious, modern, clean. It has all the necessary amenities and lots of toys for children. Vast garden with even more toys, a huge fort with swings guarantees no boredom for the kids. Parents can enjoy some peace comfortably in the living room or the spacious kitchen/dining :) The views onto the hills outside are breathtaking. The house is also very warm and quiet, a perfect place to relax. The drive to Inverness is short and easy via A9 nearby. Overall an amazing place to experience the Scottish countryside.

Best UK holiday home we have stayed in. Only suggested improvement would be somewhere to hang your towels in the bathroom & cloakroom.

  • "We spent a very enjoyable 3-night stay at Troya in June."

The accommodation is excellent. As well as being new, it was really clean and fresh and is of a high standard with spacious rooms, comfortable furnishings and a huge outdoor space including lawn, patio area with picnic benches and a super climbing play frame with platform, swings and a chute for bairns. There were even outdoor toys for using within the garden. We were a booking of six adults and a toddler and there was plenty of space inside and out to give everyone somewhere to relax. We received a lovely welcome and the owner asked us to keep in touch should we need to. An excellent location set high on the edge of trees with super views and just minutes from the A9 and Inverness. Well worth a visit and hope to be back sometime.

About the location

INVERNESS

North Kessock 5.9 miles; Dores 9.2 miles; Tomatin 15.5 miles.

The Capital of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is the gateway to the countless delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, great forests and precipitous sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery, although most visitors are usually on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The site of the last major battle fought on British soil, there is an award-winning display depicting the battle, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives. Inverness itself has much to offer, museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. The River Ness flows through the city and both the river and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.
