  • "Excellent property."

Nice secure garden, Good parking area just a 15 mi ute flat walk to townl Hot Water pressure in kitchen was very poor as was the shower pressure. Some of the kitchen utensils were in a poor condition, especially the Frying Pan which needs a simple replacement. Otherwise a very clean and practical cottage.

  • "A lovely bungalow in a good location."

Very quiet cul--de-sac with shops and cafes and pubs within 15 minute walking distance. The bungalow had everything we needed. The only negative we had, was the water pressure was quite low, so when the taps were on "hot" the water trickled out, and when we had a shower, the water pressure was still too low. To be fair, I never reported this issue, whilst we there, and I think, if I had, it would have been rectified.

  • "Had a lovely stay in Foinhaven."

The house was in a perfect location for exploring Aviemore and surrounding area. The property was well maintained and the complimentary tea bags and coffee were most welcome after a very long drive. Would book again if we return to the area. Aviemore itself is surrounded by beautiful countryside which we enjoyed exploring with our dog. The walk up the mountain behind the youth hostel was a great start to the holiday as it gave us stunning views of the surrounding area. However be warned, the town is expensive and you will be paying over the top for food when eating out, so bring your wallet!

Although house backs on to a railway line you’d hardly know it we encountered very little noise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

  • "We had a great break at Foinavon, which is in a nice quiet beautifully landscaped cul de sac and has good parking for 2 cars."

Despite the cold snowy (but generally dry) weather, the house heating was more than sufficient - we had to turn down the radiators most days. The area around the property had lots of fabulous walks for our furry companion and the rear garden was a secure area for her to stretch her furry legs. The easy 15 minute amble into the centre of Aviemore was also a good walk for us all. Even closer were a nice Coop shop, a chippy and a pizza takeaway - the Cairngorm Brewery and shop is even closer than the Coop and sells great bottled beers at good prices. The WiFi was good and supported multiple devices. It was a treat to see a steam train on the preserved railway just behind the property - there is another train line with regular services further away from the property but there was little noise from the trains. All in all we highly recommend Foinavon as a great place to stay and explore the area; we would not hesitate to book the property again.

  • "Well situated cottage, 5 minutes walk into town."

Lots of easy walking nearby and more challenging just 10 minutes drive away in every direction. Cottage was very clean, Netflix, good WiFi. Good oven. Comfy beds. Shower was ok. A few niggles such as has a dishwasher but wasn't left any tablets, no replacement bin liner for kitchen bin - though was left 3 pods for washing machine. Heating was set for a 6am start and the boiler is in the double bedroom and quite noisy so best reset for your stay if easily disturbed. Set in a quiet cul-de-sac so little noise though the train line is quite close. Niggles aside would definitely return.

  • "We were disappointed with the cleanliness and maintenance of Foinaven, which is a shame because the location is great, and someone has put care and attention into setting the house up, then it has been left to get grubby, dusty and tired looking."

We spent our first day cleaning, hoovering, shopping for a non-slip bathmat to replace the discoloured one in the bathroom, and buying several air fresheners. The loose wooden slat on the top bunk was unsafe and the shower head held up by an elastoplast was off-putting.

  • "Loved the house and the backyard perfect for our dog."

However there were a few issues: 1. Toilet seat needs repair/replaced. 2. Shower head fell down each time water came through, requiring us to hold shower while trying to wash. Also a leak from the hose. 4. Outside needs much T.L.C. grass, plants even weeds all over grown. This together with windows all extremely dirty, gave the property an air of non-use or abandonment. 5. Not withstanding the foregoing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but could have been even better had the above been attended to.

Smashing walks from the cottage for our puppy. Short walk to supermarket and 25 min walk (with 19 week old puppy!) to Aviemore centre. Back garden secure with lovely decking and garden furniture although pretty untidy with loads of branches that puppy thought was for eating. Steam trains pass and saw the flying Scotsman too! All in all a lovely relaxing holiday.

Lovely area and lots to do outside and on a rainy day. We enjoyed hill walking and mountain biking, visiting Wildlife park and Highland Museum. Steam railway is amazing and staff are all volunteers and work hard to keep this piece of history alive. Holiday property is quite tired looking with floors not that clean, skirting boards and door surrounds have not seen a duster for a long time, tea towel in kitchen we didn't use, bought one and brought it home. Wardrobe in double bedroom needs to be put out, smells foustie, check out the spelling, but it doesn't have a pleasant aroma, and area of decking to sit out is less than inviting. Having said this, we did have a super time visiting this lovely area. Aviemore itself is busy and not attractive but if you journey out a few minutes from bars and coffee shops the area is well worth a visit.

  • "Overall we had a lovely holiday however we were a little disappointed by the property as it was on an estate and felt a bit odd lacking the character that other places we have stayed at had."

I also think the lack of drying facilities i.e. heated towel rail or tumble dryer was an issue when it was wet (an outside clothes dryer is not ideal when it’s raining)

  • "When we arrived at the cottage after a 10 hour journey (this was due a diversion on the A9 of 1 and 1/2 hrs, not your fault just added to the strain of the day) the cottage had not been cleaned or linens changed since the last people had left."

I called the management agency, the number was located in the information file. They advised they thought it was clean and had not been in that day to check. They advised that they were aware we were coming and had made a mistake. We all make mistakes, although I was surprised. We were asked to leave the cottage for up to 2hrs so it could be cleaned. As you can imagine this was not ideal. We were tired, hungry and needed to rest after such a long drive. I was not happy at all. We returned to the cottage at 6.30 and it had been cleaned, it was just something we did not need. I hope this does not happen again. I felt it had to be brought to your attention as it tainted the holiday experience.

Nice quiet walk/cycle away from main road into center. Steam train passes right by the house - amazing view, it only passes a few times a day so it's not a problem. House very nice, beds very comfy. Minor issue with bathroom was fixed super quick by a local tradesman - great response. Coat hanging space at the backdoor would have been handy. No drying frame for inside - there is a line outside but weather was poor so we couldn't use it after washing a few items. Full access to Sky Movie package which is great for the evenings.
