  • "Cantie Cottage is a fabulous property in a great location, just minutes from the beach."

The cottage itself is really spacious & very homely, with a cosy lounge, comfortable bedrooms and an amazing kitchen/utility room space. The house was very clean and had all the facilities needed to enjoy a great week away. There is also a lovely enclosed courtyard at the front of the house, perfect for sitting in if the weather permits. Nairn itself has all the amenities and services needed that you would not need to leave the town if you don’t want to, however Inverness & Elgin are only a short drive should you want to visit. The communication from the owners, Paul & Boo, was also really helpful & reassuring before our arrival. I would definitely visit this property again. Many thanks guys.

  • "Comfortable and well equipped cottage in an excellent location for all Nairn has to offer."

All the extra bits and pieces provided by the owners were very welcome as well as the chilled Prosecco and cheese and oatcakes in the fridge ( and the milk for a wee cuppa ) . Our grandkids had an absolute ball the full week and were disappointed to leave not only the cottage but the play parks and beach on the doorstep. We will be back next year for sure.Thank you Paul and Boo for the opportunity to create brilliant family memories.

The thoroughness of the support they provided, notably on-call engineers for the heating etc., was also mush appreciated

Perfect for a larger family with lots of space. Lovely base to Scotland but also very close to the beach for an evening walk/play.

  • "Cantie Cottage was very comfortable and we felt at home."

Nairn itself is a friendly town with so many nice places to visit and explore. We were sorry to leave - a week really wasn’t long enough.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Cantie Cottage."

The cottage itself is spacious, in good condition and was spotlessly clean. There was a great attention to detail with thoughtful provision of everything that would be needed for a week's stay - including supplies for the washing machine and dishwasher. There was even a welcome pack which included a delicious box of goodies. The courtyard at the front of the house is a lovely place to sit with fencing to provide privacy. The location is perfect, close to the idyllic beach.

  • "Unlike many holiday rental properties where you find little cleaning products such as dishwasher tablets bin bags etc this time I didn’t need the kitchen sink I took with me!"

Paul and Bo provided just about everything you could want. The beds were extremely comfortable in what at first glance looks little like a 4 bedroom cottage. The kitchen/dining room and lounge also much larger than anticipated. For the children despite the cold weather the beach was a constant draw as it was so close by. The open fire was a bonus. Having previously lived in the Moray Firth it was lovely to go back despite the sun shining very little. A rarity in Nairn! The golf as usual was great. Definitely looking to return.

It’s only a two minute stroll to the beach and a short distance to Nairn’s high street. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend this holiday home.

  • "I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Cantie Cottage."

We ate at most of the suggested restaurant and visited many of the suggested sites. We did day tours to John O'Groats, Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Black Isles, and Inverness. We also did trips to Culloden, Fort George, Benromach Distillary, and Countyfare. One of the real treats for our Grandchildren was your neighbor's dog Dougal who they named "Sir Dougal of Fishertown". The Cottage met and exceeded our expectations. I misplaced my small digital camera; if someone locates it, which could be anywhere in Northern Scotland, please let me know. Thanks again for wonderful memories. Bill

  • "Mostly great, but there were a few wrinkles: Many of the dinner plates don't fit in the dishwasher (too big)."

The lock on the rear door is hard to operate (have to try many times before it'll work). Water leaked through the kitchen window vent when it was raining hard.

Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth. Nairn is steeped in history and is closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europe’s best preserved 18th century military fortification. Shakespeare’s famed Cawdor Castle and Brodie Caste are both within 15 mins drive. Golfing enthusiasts will be attracted to the two 18-hole championship courses, including the Nairn Golf Club, and the town also has an outdoor tennis court as well as a squash court for hire. The yearly Nairn Highland Games in August draws a wide crowd and The Nairn Book and Arts Festival is a popular year event. Whitewater rafting, tubing and cliff jumping are all available for those with a spirit for adventure. Day trips from the local airport are available to Orkney and Shetland and the Cairngorm National Park with skiing and hiking are within 1 hour.
