  • "My husband and I had a lovely comfortable stay in Coorie Doon."

The cottage is well equipped and very homely. The log burner in the sitting room was a real plus as Nairn was pretty chilly in mid November! The location is fantastic and literally only two minutes walk to the beach. We had some great meals out at Ozzy's restaurant (recommend by the owners). We didn't have a car with us and found plenty to do and see, walking and taking public transport from the cottage. Very happy to recommend it. Polly and Lindsay

Hello Polly and Lindsay, Thank you for your lovely review and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Coorie Doon. It's great that, even without a car, you were able to get about in Nairn and the area. Would love you to return some time. Paul Property Owner

Attentive hosts - communicated before and during stay as needed - even shared a bottle of red with us. Hosts provided insight into activities we might consider including hooking us up with eBike rental (GreenHive). Cottage was perfect - quiet, comfortable, and practical. Didn't want to leave and would definitely go back!

The location was very good and afforded a daily use of the sea front areas while being walkable to the town. As we have family and friends in Inverness, Forres and Fochabers, being based in Nairn was perfect

Hello Fraser, Thank you for your feedback and comments in Guest Book - that is very much appreciated. It might be a bit chilly in Nairn at the moment but I think it can be beautiful, especially on the beach, in Winter. Thanks again Paul Property Owner

The cottage itself is well equipped and there were some biscuits , milk, tea, coffee and sugar waiting for us on our arrival and not forgetting a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The owner had left a brief history about the cottage which was great and interesting and it was lovely to see that some of its history had been kept but mixed with modern touches which didn’t spoil it. A great little find for anyone wanting to explore Nairn, Inverness and the surrounding area. Thank you for a wonderful stay . The owner

Thank you, Jane, for your lovely feedback. We've grown to like the beach walks most which are indeed breathtaking. Almost everyone who stays at Coorie Doon sees dolphins from the beach and the Northern Lights neither of which I've seen in 60 years of visiting Nairn - maybe this year !! Property Owner

My elderly father accompanied us on our holiday and found the downstairs bedroom and bathroom very helpful.

We ate and relaxed in the lovely, private yarden and swan in the sea at midnight. The cottage has everything you could ever need for a wonderful break ‘home from home’. It’s a great central spot to travel from and investigate the beautiful surrounding area.

Hello Angela, Thank you very much for your lovely review of Coorie Doon and Nairn area. There is quite a large group of wild water swimmers in the sea off Nairn although they are usually on the dayshift - a midnight swim sounds fantastic (although we are next up in October when it mightn't be so "warm"). Coorie Doon was warm, comfortable and the perfect place to come back to after a day out. It's in a great location, tucked away, but just a short walk to Nairn's town centre, numerous eating places and beautiful beaches. Every day began or ended with a walk along the promenade or along the sand with a pair of binoculars to appreciate the amazing birdlife and one one occasion, even seals and dolphins. We loved the cottage, the area, and hope to return soon.

Hello Mark, Thank you for your very kind words. It is always satisfying when we are able to help guests have an enjoyable holiday - sometimes despite the weather being a little inclement !! You are one up on me as, in the 60 years I have been visiting Nairn, I am yet to see a live dolphin - perhaps next time we are there. We would love to have you back at Coorie Doon. Property Owner

  • "Property was so lovely and cosy for the time of year we stayed, so close to Nairn beach and short walk only to town."

You can see the Garden would be beautiful in spring/summer. Property bed upstaors was extremely comfortable, my husband generally doesn't sleep good but did so while staying at Coorie Doo. We loved the log fire and the roll top Bath - tip is to get logs from home bargains if open rather than petrol station as the latter were a bit too big and not as dry. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Hello Elizabeth, Thank you very much for your lovely review. Very glad we could accommodate you at very short notice and I hope you had a fantastic hogmanay and a bit of a rest. I endorse your comments about the logs from Home Bargains (logs from other retailers are available !!) which are better burners and seem to be much dryer. Also glad that your husband slept well at Coorie Doon - a lot of guests mention the very comfortable bed. Hope you may be able to visit again. Paul pe Property Owner

If you've a bit more time - Coorie Down is in a wonderful location barely 2 minutes walk from the beach, but also an easy short walk to Nairn's town centre. The owners have ensured guests will want for (almost) nothing, with a well appointed kitchen & a very comfortably furnished sitting room. The king sized bed was also hugely comfortable and the provided linen and towels felt luxurious. The wifi was also well up to the task, and for our arrival, the owners had left a small selection of welcome goodies to start us off. What stood out was the level of cleanliness throughout - the presentation of Coorie Down was, to our minds, exemplary. One minor issue surfaced during our stay, and owner Paul responded at once and ensured a replacement item was delivered the following day. Fantastic all round.

Myself, 2 kids and my parents spent a wonderful, relaxing week there in October. The cottage, while being spacious, felt very cosy and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a big, freestanding bath and a very spacious shower. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi connectivity was excellent. The kids loved that we were only a 2 minute walk away from a lovely, sandy beach and enjoyed walking and playing there every day. Communication with the property owner was great and he provided lots of useful info. Nairn itself is a lovely town with a good collection of shops and we didn’t feel the need to wander much further afield. That said, if you did wish to do a bit of exploring, Nairn is perfectly placed for heading to the North East and North West. I’d highly recommend a stay at Coorie Doon!

Relaxing cosy cottage, loved the original stone wall in the living room and log burner. The whole place was immaculately clean and very well maintained. Lovely and warm after cold and rainy days out. Although it is located in a town it was very quiet and peaceful in Fishertown and being able to walk to a beautiful white sandy beach helped tire out our 3 young boys. Nairn is an attractive and lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the town of Inverness. Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth. Nairn is steeped in history and is closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europe’s best preserved 18th century military fortification. Shakespeare’s famed Cawdor Castle and Brodie Caste are both within 15 mins drive. Golfing enthusiasts will be attracted to the two 18-hole championship courses, including the Nairn Golf Club, and the town also has an outdoor tennis court as well as a squash court for hire. The yearly Nairn Highland Games in August draws a wide crowd and The Nairn Book and Arts Festival is a popular year event. Whitewater rafting, tubing and cliff jumping are all available for those with a spirit for adventure.
