Great communication with the owners, and the property was warm and clean when we arrived (thank you to the cleaner!). The welcome basket was very much appreciated too. The decor was lovely (the house gave us some design ideas ready for when we renovate our own house!), and we had everything we needed for our holiday. Friendly neighbours too. A great property and we'll be recommending it to our family and friends. We'd love to return one day. Thank you!

Dear Paula, Thank you so much for that lovely review. It has really made our day. We're really glad that you liked the house and found it comfortable. You're absolutely right about the neighbours too. In fact all the neighbours on the street are super friendly and we regard this as a true blessing as it is very unusual. Thats why we love spending time there too. We are glad you had an enjoyable stay and really hope to see you again next year. Warmest Regards Sam & Michelle Barghout Property Owner

A wonderful experience. Only difficultly recycle directions - we couldn't find where we were supposed to put our glass. So sorry!

Hi Lindsay, Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that you liked the house. You dont need to apologise about the glass so dont worry. There is an A5 poster in a picture frame in the kitchen, that explains what to do with the glass. You must have missed it thinking it was an ornamental picture. We didnt want to spoil the look of the house by covering it in safety warnings and instructions so we put some of them in picture frames so they look nicer. I am sorry if this confused you. As I said, dont worry about the glass - it is no big deal. Warmest Regards Sam & Michelle Property Owner

As it turned out we didn’t need to worry as when we arrived at Carn Glas we immediately knew it was lovely and spotless. It wasn’t until we got inside and read the welcome letter we found out we were the first ever guests to stay in the house, and Michelle the owner had left a lovely selection of biscuits and wine for us. The house itself was amazing, everything was brand new! We loved the downstairs open plan kitchen, dining room and living room downstairs with lovely views over the hills beyond. The bedrooms and bathrooms were quiet and comfortable and Michelle had amazing Highland Soap company products in every bathroom. The location was brilliant for us with a young family. There were two play parks within five minutes walk from the house and a great walk through Urquhart Bay Woods down to the edge of Loch Ness. Also within 1 minute walking distance was a well stocked Scotmid and a fish and chip shop. It was also well situated for Nessie spotting and 2 minutes from Urquhart castle. I have no idea why Sykes only give this 4 ticks in their rating, it’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. If you’re after somewhere quiet, luxurious and well located for exploring Loch Ness you can’t go wrong with Carn Glas.
