  • "I/we had an absolutely brilliant time - Su and Tim could not have been more friendly, helpful, accommodating and just such lovely people."

Not only did they go out of their way to make me welcome but my friend who was staying with me - they looked after him while I was at work and took him bird watching and for various walks as well as collecting him from Thurso as he was stranded there due to my taking the car to my work. Great place, so comfortable and will book again without a moments doubt. Highly recommended - GOLD STAR. ,

  • "We stayed at the The Old School House at Stemster from the 4th of February for a week it is a cosy upper level 1 bedroom apartment, it is situated about 7mls from Thurso."

It has night storage heating, which kept the place nice and warm, ( not that we needed it due to amazing weather ). It has a large bedroom, a small kitchen, a decent sized bathroom, and a good sized living room area, there is ample parking outside in the car park that is shared with the main house, who Tim and is wife occupy, Tim greeted us when we arrived, and showed us what was what. Do not follow your Sat Nav as you will end up along a farm track in the middle of nowhere

  • "Visited the north of Scotland for a photography holiday on my own and was not disappointed with the cottage or location."

As others have said the property is bigger than expected and more than enough for my needs and is located a few miles south of Thurso which is on the NC500. The owners Tim and Su welcomed me along with their dog Ruby and were able to offers some advice and tips on photography locations that would only be known to locals, unfortunately the Northern Lights didn't make an appearance though, maybe next time! Would I recommend this cottage, absolutely! Would I rent it again, unlikely but only because I rarely visit the same place twice, my next trip to Scotland will be to the Northwest coast and whilst the distance from this cottage isn't great due to the windy nature of the roads and the number of stops to admire the views the time taken travelling would be too great. Thank you Su and Tim (and Ruby) for the warm welcome and best wishes for the festive season and into 2022. Phil

  • "This accommodation was absolutely fantastic, I can't recommend staying enough."

Perfect location for exploring the north east of Scotland. The hosts were very friendly, Su and Tim. They showed me around the property and helped me feel at home. The property itself was better that I had actually expected and as a bonus had WIFI ! You are close enough to all of the local facilities but just far enough away to feel the tranquility of the countryside. Su and Tim thank you for sharing this property, it really excelled. I don't have a bad word to say about my time there. Looking forward to a return visit ASAP. Best regards Ben

  • "What a fantastic place to spend your holidays."

Me and my wife and two children have spent our February half term over there and what a fantastic experience we've had. Firstly, the flat is much bigger than it looks on the pictures, the living room is very spacious and the sofa bed is a decent size so our kids could sleep comfortably together(bear in your mind that they're 15 and 12, so not so little), well equipped kitchen with everything you need and I mean everything, nice bathroom with shower and a bedroom with gigantic comfortable bed and wardrobe, even iron is there! Plenty to do in the area if you like walking. The owners Tim and Su are fantastic and very welcoming people, if you like dogs then you can invite Ruby their dog to visit you in the flat and she will enjoy it very much especially if you give her some sausages (sorry Tim and Su ). At overall highly recommend this place. Arek and Joanna
