The property

Resting in the sleepy fishing village of Ardersier, between Inverness and Nairn, lies this charming, detached bungalow, Toll House.

This property is a B listed former Toll House built in 1820, perfectly placed for exploring the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands, this inviting retreat backs uninterrupted by property onto the beach, welcoming families and friends at any time of year.

Enter into the reception area with room to store your boots and coats before moving into the spacious kitchen/diner. From the kitchen, 120 species of birds have been seen from the window along with whales (including Orca), dolphins, seals and otters.

Allow the chef of the group to get acquainted with all the mods and cons of a self-catered cottage, whilst the others prepare the dining table for a family feast.

Spend your evenings unwinding in the sitting room, taking comfort on the large sofas whilst the woodburning stove provides a lovely warmth to the room, with the flatscreen TV offering Freeview entertainment.

Follow the flagstone flooring into the bedrooms, with a choice of double, twin and singled bedded, each well-furnished with ample storage for your personal items, plus there is a shower room and bathroom to share.

Glass doors from the double bedroom provide access to the rear garden patio, perfect for enjoying a favourite drink whilst taking advantage of the good weather.

Ardersier is a small fishing village with simple amenities, offering two convenience stores for picking up any essentials and friendly pubs to slake your thirst after a long walk in the fresh air.

Visit the Highlanders’ Museum, resting within the striking grounds of Fort George, where you can see over 20,000 artifacts with documents and photographs showcasing the military history of the area, or take a trip to the nearby Connage Dairy, a world class cheese dairy.

Embark on an unforgettable day exploring the glorious Scottish Highlands with a trip to Cairngorms National Park, perfect for enjoying a scenic walk along one of the many picturesque nature trails, or challenging yourself to a hike up the impressive Ben Madui Mountain Peak.

The historic village of Ardersier lies 11 miles east of Inverness in the great Scottish Highlands. The village holds a rich history of fishing and farming connections, through supporting the building of Fort George, to having oil rigs built at what is now known as the Port of Ardersier. Today visitors can enjoy two pubs, convenience stores, a parish church and a café, while there is also the iconic Highlander’s Museum resting within the stunning grounds of Fort George, offering an insight into the Georgian history of the village.
