The owners are fantastic, so welcoming! Do not be put off by the buildings around the property - you have an uninterrupted view to the hills from the lounge/outdoor area.

Highly recommend canoeing on the river - we did a guided trip with Adventure Highland but Warwick and Becky have a canoe you can borrow if you are confident to go out yourself. All in all a gteat stay.

The owners are really relaxed and friendly and we appreciated the tip of going to visit the local Glen Strathfarrer which was brilliant and a real insider tip. The only thing I would say is that you'll need to like chickens and dogs because of the daily bisit from both which added to the charm of the place. Can highly recommend!

The owners, Warwick and Becky were so friendly, even bringing us freshly baked bread and eggs from their hens. It was in a brilliant location, with so much to do nearby. I would definitely recommend both the cottage and location.

  • "Many thanks to Warwick & Becky for a phenomenal stay."

We loved our time at the cottage - it was a welcome cosy contrast to the chaos and stress of normal life. The cottage is kept exceptionally clean and maintained, with lots of generous touches and we were very well looked after by the hosts. The location is great for outdoor adventuring - we particularly enjoyed our walks in Glen Affric and exploring the Black Isle. We were only sad we couldn't stay longer - heartily recommend!

  • "We stayed here 2nd-9th October, and oh my goodness it did not disappoint, we wanted peace and quiet and away from all the madness of the past 6 months, and this was perfect."

Becky and Warwick were lovely, and nothing being to much trouble, we were greeted with freshly warm baked bread and eggs from their very tame hens. Cow Byre was immaculate inside with lots of little added touches to make it home from home, the pictures/prints were lovely the cow ones a favourite, a excellent base with some real mesmerising walks, if we had to really dig to find a fault it would literally be its not recommended to walk direct from cow byre, but you don't have to drive far to get to places so no hassle. Certainly will be visiting again. Totally exceded expectations.

Waking up to the crisp winter air and a beautiful view of the glen, (at risk of sounding super cliche) helped me find a level of content I'd forgotten. Warwick was a great host, providing fresh bread and eggs to aid in my caloric intake after some fairly intense walks and exploring. Definitely recommend this cosy cabin. Thanks again Warwick and co

The local scenery is beautiful with Glen Strathfarrar and Glen Afflic a short drive down the road that the property sits on and gives a good opportunity to visit in a morning or afternoon to explore the beauty and the abundant wildlife especially the birdlife . About the location

Inverness 12 miles.

Lying on the north bank of the River Beauly, just 12 miles west of Inverness, the village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the Highlands. An excellent location for touring, the village is within easy reach of Loch Ness, the ancient Caledonian pine forests of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar and the coast (sandy beaches 8 miles). The name Beauly comes from the French “beau lieu” or “beautiful place” and the village prides itself on being both scenic and well-kept, having won both Scotland and Britain in Bloom titles. One of Beauly's highlights is the ruined 13th Century priory, around which the village was built. Today the village is famous for its craft-based industries and offers an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer just on the doorstep, Beauly makes an excellent holiday base!
