"With its cobwebs and creaking doors this is more like the home of the Adam’s ..."

With its cobwebs and creaking doors this is more like the home of the Adam’s Family It might have a jacuzzi but it lacks the basic equipment such as a hairdryer or iron It has been decorated and furnished so cheaply with stuff nobody else would want We’re told it’s to make an atmosphere but there are bedside lamps, for example, with nowhere to plug them in The kitchen cupboards weren’t clean so I hate to think what the dark paintwork is hiding The stairs are dangerously slippy and unlit and there’s a large mirror in the upstairs front bedroom that is just balanced on the furniture and which toppled over and hurt my hand as I caught it I hate to think of what would happen if the huge bathroom one did the same The two stars are for the jacuzzi and utility room but everything else was awful When I booked it said there were two allocated parking spaces but there was only one and the outside area is neglected and covered in rubbish I can’t believe this property has passed any inspection

Thank you for your review, Angela. We were disappointed to read your comments. It's clear that the style and character of our house were not what you were looking for. Our home is designed to be a whimsical and unique retreat, as reflected in our listing photos and description. We understand that this style is not to everyone's taste, and it seems our home was not the right fit for you. We would like to clarify a few points you raised, as they are important for us to address. The property underwent a professional deep clean by a team of five people just before your arrival, and I personally spent three hours ensuring the garden was spotless. Regarding parking, our listing clearly states that we offer one allocated parking space for a car and a secured space for bikes or prams. We are sorry that you were hurt by a falling mirror. As a direct result of your feedback, we have since secured it to the wall for the safety of all future guests. We hope you will be able to find a home that better suits your needs on your next trip. Kind regards Aria Property Owner

"Ania the host was lovely very efficient informative and helpful when we arrived ..."

Ania the host was lovely very efficient informative and helpful when we arrived she even gave us a bottle of prosecco as we had a 40th birthday celebration we all had a lovely stay loved the quirkiness of the house think a coupe of people would have liked to have moved in only criticism would be that we were a little disappointed that the hot tub was not hot enough to use on our first day of arrival but certainly didn't spoil our celebrations

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and that we could help make your 40th birthday celebration special. We're happy you found the house quirky and that you found us helpful and efficient. We're sorry to hear about the hot tub not being hot enough for you on your first day. As we mentioned, we always clean and refill it between guests, so the water does take some time to heat up from cold. We're very sorry this caused disappointment, but we're pleased to hear it didn't spoil your celebrations. We hope to welcome you back again in the future! Property Owner

TWEEDMOUTH, BERWICK-UPON-TWEED

Mordrington 5.6 miles; Haggerston 6.9 miles; Bamburgh 18.1 miles.

Tweedmouth is a village making up part of the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which rests on the banks of the River Tweed, Northumberland, between the parish of Mordrington to the north and the hamlet of Haggerston to the south. Historically always a part of England, unlike Berwick, the village is best known for its famous annual ceremony, where Tweedmouth schools elect a 'Salmon Queen' to mark the beginning of 'Salmon Week', a tradition that dates all the way back to 1292. The surroundings of the village enjoy great proximity to a number of beaches, historical landmarks, as well as the Scottish border just a short distance to the north. Visitors to Tweedmouth can stock up on essentials at the Tesco Superstore or the M&S Simply Food food hall, whilst dining options in the village include The Riverside Cafe, Lee Garden, The Thatch and The Angel Inn. The neighbouring town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, offers a range of exciting things to do and see, such as roaming the historic grounds of Berwick Lighthouse, the Berwick-upon-Tweed Castle and Ramparts and the Town Hall, as well as the magnificent Royal Border Bridge, whilst those seeking to brush up on their local history can do so at the Berwick Museum and Art Gallery and the King's Own Scottish Borderers Regimental Museum.
