Amazing location with river and woodland walks directly from the front door. Peace and tranquility whilst spotting the local wildlife. Great location for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Will definitely be back for another visit.

Lovely and warn and clean with the added bonus of a log burner with plenty of wood for it. The garden was fantastic for the dogs as it is fully enclosed and safe. Lots to do in the surrounding area as well as good walks from the cottage door especially for exercising the dogs. Would love to come back in the summer months and will be definitely recommending to friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Twizel Station Cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable and had everything you needed to cook a variety of meals. The fixtures and fittings are good quality. Excellent shower, good mattresses and linens. Great heating system with the bonus of a log burner ensured we were kept cosy. Enclosed garden perfect for the dogs. The location was great for walking the dogs and exploring local area. We hope to return in the summer .

The kitchen was very well equipped. Open plan living room/dining and kitchen felt spacious with door leading from the kitchen area to enclosed patio and lawned garden area, perfect if you have children or dog. Ideally situated in a peaceful location, on the border of Northumberland and Scotland, with walks from the door or towns/castles/coastal areas within easy reach by car.

The historic village of Norham is most famous for its splendid Norman Castle ruins overlooking the River Tweed, painted by Turner in 1845. The village has an excellent butcher and bakery, a Post Office, grocer, newsagent and two pubs. Also nearby in the village of Allanton is a good restaurant which is great for fishing and shooting parties as well as the Cross Inn at Paxton. Berwick-upon-Tweed is just 7 miles away, at the northern tip of Northumberland’s beautiful Heritage Coast, boasting many restaurants, cafes, pubs and a nearby links golf course. The Scottish capital of Edinburgh or the city of Newcastle are easily accessed by train from Berwick. A superb base for exploring all North Northumberland has to offer.
