  • "The cottage was very well presented comfort wise however a lot of damp areas around the front entrance that need attention."

The outside of the property again needs a lot of attention as looking run down and not maintained. The cottage was clean however a deep clean ie floors under furniture etc need to be done more regular as it was obvious that this is not done very often. We noticed other accommodations in the village that would better suit us if we were to book again in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. The front entrance was on the list to do which was done soon after your departure. I will ensure this is maintained regularly and have better systems in place so this is done prior to anyone who is staying at the property. The outside is maintained regularly but will again look ensuring improvements are made. Property Owner

  • "The location of the house was excellent for every place we wanted to visit i."

    E. Lindisfarne, Alnwick & Bamburgh but the house left a lot to be desired. It wasn't very clean, and as we don't have a dog noticed a slight doggy smell about the place. Also the double mattress needs replacing as it is noisy and uncomfortable. The whole place needs some TLC. Central heating and hot water were excellent but the towels were a bit small and cheap. We would have liked some written instructions for the kitchen appliances as had to look on the internet for how to operate the dishwasher. The people before us had put all their recycling in the rubbish bin as there were no instructions about what to do with the rubbish & recycling in the place. On the plus side a nice welcome pack was left for us and the house was well equipped. Also the Apple Inn down the road does very good food.

Thank you for your feedback. We do allow dogs at the property and the rules are that the pet needs to be well behaved and that they are kept downstairs. Its sometimes hard to monitor but will ensure moving forward that guests who bring pets are aware. The instructions for the appliances are on the notice board in the kitchen and also kept in the drawer. I do refer to rubbish in my welcome letter, which bin to use and the day it is collected. Moving forward I will monitor more closely and appreciate the feedback. Property Owner

So peaceful with beautuful views from the back over the fields. Home from home with everything you need for a perfect stay. Located in a wonderful spot for great access to the amazing coastline, with Bamburgh Castle just 5 mins in the car and Seahouses only 10 mins. A great find, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

  • "The property was clean and comfortable."

There was a welcome pack which was very nice. My only complaint was that there wasn't any toilet roll on arrival. I appreciate the listing says no toiletries, so it might be my misunderstanding. But other than that the cottage is located in Lucker which is small and quiet. The School House is a short walk which served lovely breakfast and the dog was welcome. The Apple Inn across is also very nice but I would recommend you book. Bamburgh is a short drive away, beautiful castle and fantastic beach. Seahouses and Beadnell are reasonably close. Great location.

  • "House is lovely and in a really nice spot."

Bits and bats in the house are provided like washing up liquid, kitchen roll, tea, coffee, snacks which is all really thoughtful ! The only things that let it down a little for us was the main bedroom mattress, it felt cheap, noisy and uncomfortable, the single bed mattresses are fine. The other thing was the front garden. It really needed some TLC. It was the most unkept in the village when we arrived. Things grow quickly this time of year so it would quickly get out of hand so I completely understand, it just seemed a shame to let the house down with something so easily fixed. Would still recommend as that doesn’t really affect the quality of your stay, it’s just cosmetic. The back garden is kept lovely and has fantastic views!

We appreciated the welcome gifts. Being able to use our Netflix and Prime on the tv was great. The location was perfect for trips around the area, we enjoyed watching the wildlife over the fields and the birds nesting. We will recommend and hope to return.

  • "This is a very well equipped and comfortable holiday cottage."

All of the rooms are a good size and there are smart TVs in the lounge and both bedrooms. The wi-fi is very good. It is close to the A1 which makes travelling very easy throughout the region. there is a lovely, small back garden which is visited by many different birds and we were lucky enough to watch two deer in the field at the rear of the house. Parking is not directly outside the house but is off the main road at the end of the terrace, we never had a problem getting parked there. The floorboards upstairs between the toilet and bathroom are very noisily squeaky, not a problem for us staying as a couple but may be an issue during the night for two adult couples of a certain age requiring to use the facilities through the night. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Fieldview House and I would trecommend it to others.

  • "Excellent location in the beautiful village of Lucker as a base to explore the surrounding area."

Fieldview is well equipped with everything you could need as a home from home. However the house does need a little TLC in areas. The garden is overgrown and there are many weeds and nettles. There is paint peeling from the walls in the hallway as you enter the property. Cleanliness could also be improved. There is mould around the shower and some of the shelves and microwave had not been wiped before we arrived. If these things are addressed it would greatly improve first impressions.

  • "Fantastic property."

Comfy, homely and in a lovely quiet area. Ideally situated for exploring a huge swath of Northumberland and the borders. We were also left a fabulous and generous welcome pack by the owners that even had a packet of dog treats for our dog- very thoughtful! We also had a friendly and informative email sent by the owners about a week before letting us know about the property and the immediate area. Couldn’t recommend highly enough and we are hoping to visit again when we’re able to.

  • "A lovely property, mostly really nicely furnished and decorated - except for the hallway which has paint peeling from the walls."

Unfortunately there were 3 empty bottles in the house when we arrived - which we did take to the bottle bank, the garden furniture was filthy (the light grey chairs were green!), and there wasn't a washing up sponge left for us to use. Otherwise, the property was very clean. The welcome pack was slightly strange - a bottle of wine, and 4 packs of 2 biscuits! The double bed was too hard for me, but the single beds were lovely and comfortable. The location of the property was perfect. Very close to the coast, but also easy access to the A1. We were extremely lucky with the weather, and had a great stay.

  • "The property was excellent."

There was a problem with the heating which was resolved immediately, but on a temporary basis. It needs looking into. I would recommend cutting the very long grass in the garden, as it was difficult to establish whether our dog left a little gift behind! Unlikely, because she has a well established poo pattern, but you never know! We appreciated the tea, coffee, biscuits and wine thoughtfully provided. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this property.

Just a couple of minor points the garden could have been tidier and the grass cut, also a little damp in the porch causing flaking paint, that wouldn't put me off staying again though.

  • "The house was ideal for us - very safe for the children and warm and comfortable."

We ran out of time to do everything in the surrounding area. Lucker is perfectly situated for some lovely places. There were a couple of things that could have been better. The cleaners had not been in before we arrived- although a call to the owner quickly sorted that. The welcome pack is a great idea but the milk was past it’s sell by date. Finally both bins were full to overflowing outside. We did put out the blue recycling bin as there was a collection but could not put out the black bin as no Collection was scheduled before we left. These are minor issues which I’m sure can be solved easily and they did not spoil are holiday in the least. It is a lovely little house and it was perfect for us.

  • "Just returned from a week at this very comfortable and clean dog-friendly house."

We were provided with a lovely welcome pack on arrival, including treats for the dog. The accommodation provides really well for your stay and includes a good hairdryer, iron, vacuum, clothes horse, dog bowls and absolutely everything you could think of needing in the kitchen! This is easily the best equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in. There is also a washer/dryer in the kitchen and a clothes line in the garden for nice days if you need it. There is also a dishwasher - which is an essential on our tick list of holiday accommodation wants - but we ended up not using it as my husband enjoyed standing doing the dishes so much while looking out the window over the lovely landscape!!! The garden space is lovely - laid out between decking and lawn. The landscape provides a huge sky for star gazing at night. Only a 3 mile easy drive to Bamburgh beach, and a couple more on to Seahouses - you could walk it over various cross field paths if you wanted to as there are walking paths all over the place that lead from Lucker or nearby. Depending on your satnav there are 2 different routes from the A1 to the property. If you turn off at the petrol station (were you can stock up on all sorts of stuff and logs etc for the stove) then you will drive in on a 2 way road, but take your time as there are some very tight bends that will creep up on you - do not try to go the 60mph speed limit, stick to 30/40mph! The other road from the A1 that is signposted for Lucker takes you down a single track road - which may be a bit tricky if your not used to that - but do not let that put you off, as this house is a great base for exploring the surrounding areas, once you have driven the road once you get used to where the bends are. Its also an easy 20 min drive to Alnwick for bigger shops and a swimming pool etc. There is a tv in each room - we didn't use the bedroom ones, but the living room tv is a smart tv with access to Netflix / Now TV / ITV, BBC, 4, 5 players etc. The shower is also excellent - really strong pressure from the handheld and has a rain shower head too with lashings of hot water. The beds were also very comfortable and the house was lovely and cosy thanks to the central heating and wood burning stove. There is plenty of parking outside. There are 2 pubs/eateries in stones throw walking distance but we didn't pay them a visit so cant comment on what they are like. Communication from the owner was excellent - both before and after our stay. It is obvious that they really take pride in the property and have really made an effort to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We would definitely stay here again if returning to the area.
