• "Rose Cottage was an ideal place to stay."

  It was very comfortable and furnished with everything we could possibly need. The location was quiet and peaceful but easily within reach of local attractions. We would definitely stay there again.

  Cottage was nice and cosy, kitchen was small but well equipped. Like previous visitors we would have preferred a shower cubicle, as getting into bath slightly difficult at our age!

• "The property was very enjoyable, just as it was advertised very cosy for two adults."

  The only problem we had was getting in & out of the bath in the bathroom, we are pensioners so was a bit difficult for use. We could only say would it be better with a shower unit? But apart from this we will be happy to stay again at your lovely cottages in the lovely locations. Many Thanks for a lovely vacation with you.

• "It was an extremely mean offering."

  The kitchen was absolutely bare. No salt or pepper, no tea, coffee , sugar or milk. They didn’t even provide a scourer to clean the saucepans. 1 toilet roll was provided for the entire week. No soap provided for hand washing. We travelled from Australia and we noted on the listing that you have to provide your own towels, so we requested that they would make an exception and supply us some towels at an additional cost, and they did not bother to reply. All the bad stuff said. On the positive side, the cottage was absolutely charming, in a wonderful location, it is a pity that with a little additional effort it could be a five star holiday cottage.

• "A very pretty cottage in an ideal central location for visiting Northumberland attractions and the National Park."

  Stunning wildlife and countryside views. Cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything you could need. Though the furniture and decor seemed rather tired and dated, ultimately this wasn't as important as being clean and tidy, which it was. We were disappointed to discover one of the other cottages had a swimming pool which someone else staying said we ought to have been entitled to use. This wasn't mentioned in the info. Perhaps it would have been nice to have access? Anyway, all in all a lovely stay. Thank you.

  Rose cottage was more than we expected, it is clean and comfortable with constant hot water and heating and we enjoyed the gardens and the wild life we saw there, we will certainly go again, thank you Nada and Bob

• "We felt that the Description that it was a Cottage for TWO people was taken too literally - two of everything - which meant that we spent a lot of our holiday time washing up!"

  ! A little more generosity in terms of crockery and cutlery would have been welcome. The bedroom could have done with an extra chair. The placing of the toilet roll holder was most awkward. Otherwise it was lovely and warm and dry

  The cottage requires updating in both the kitchen and barthroom and instructions for both cooker and microwave would have been usefull.

• "The cottage location is stunning, and is beautiful externally."

  Inside when we arrived the cottage smelt so bad we nearly didn’t stay. The furniture and decor are very dated. There were dead flies in the net curtains. The 2 armchairs felt damp when sitting on them so we had to sit on towels. The smell was nauseous. We were extremely tired after a very long drive from Lincolnshire and went to bed. This actually was the saving grace. We both slept extremely well so probably felt less upset when we awoke. We drove into Wooler and purchased air freshener and bleach from the coop. The smell started to get better (or we were getting used to it). The location is perfect for visiting the rest of Northumberland and on our return on an evening we sat in the garden listening to the wildlife and nature. Kate was lovely and friendly so we didn’t complain to her, nothing could be done and it wasn’t because of anything she hadn’t done that we felt like we did. If the cottage was updated we would be back in a heartbeat. I would recommend the setting, cottages etc but the inside does let itself down I’m afraid.

• "A fantastic location, very quiet and comfortable."

  The house was lovely, but it would have been nice to have a little more info about e.g how to work the cooker, what time we needed to vacate etc, the only info we had was on where to leave bins. It would have been good to have some tourist brochures etc as we have had in previous cottages, there was lots to do, but not always well advertised, we were very glad to have brought our own OS map walk and guide book, as no internet reception (this was not otherwise a problem, and was indicated on the website). Some hooks for coats would also have been good, as it does often rain in Britain! The walks from the cottage were amazing, it would be a shame for future visitors to miss out if they did not have a map.

• "A beautiful peaceful cottage surrounded by fields and woodland."

  Everything you need for a very relaxing holiday. Not full marks on comfort as would have been good to have a foot rest as there are only arm chairs no sofa. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this little wildlife haven and would definitely go back.
