Nearby is the market town of Alnwick, where you can explore its medieval castle and gardens or a little further afield are the delights of Bamburgh, Amble and Holy Island.

Keen walkers will relish in an action-packed adventure exploring Northumberland National Park with landmarks such as Chew Green, The Dark Stone and Bremenium Roman Fort.

There is also plenty of fun to be had down by the sea with the 14th century remains of Dunstanburgh Castle, now owned by the national trust, and Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum lining the breath-taking Northumberland Coast.
