  • "Lovely cottage (we have visited a number of times before)."

Very clean. Great facilities. Really quiet. Shops and nice pubs very close by. Fantastic for walking/exploring. Close to rail line so easy to visit Newcastle/Scotland. Nearby market town of Alnwick with great real ale pubs and the wonderful Borders Books Emporium. Highly recommended..

  • "Even better than it says in its advertisement."

Top class in every way We were there the Easter weekend, so parking was the only problem. But maybe worth mentioning, there are parking restrictions anyway. Other than that small point, the whole experience was amazing.

  • "Everything was perfect."

The only problem we had was working out how to use the grill. Even with the instruction manual we didn’t manage. Maybe a dummies guide would be useful. A beautiful cottage with everything you need. Our third visit and we hope to come back.

Our only disappointment was that although it was listed on the intinery there was no microwave. My Brother who visited last year said that they had one so why has it been removed ? Otherwise we had a really lovely stay in a very clean warm comfortable cottage & would definitely go again

  • "A lovely cottage, very comfortable and quiet, and everything you could need - except maybe a quick idiot's guide to the cooker?"

The official booklet was there, but incomprehensible as so often - life's too short, especially on a one-week holiday, to pore over technical instructions when all you want to do is turn the oven on to a 'normal' temperature! And maybe some teabags to make a cup off tea on arrival. And perhaps a quick explanation about parking restrictions. A super place, and Alnmouth is absolutely lovely.

A very short walk and you are on the lovely , unspoilt beach of Alnmouth. I have stayed in Jackson Cottage before, and will definitely use it again and recommend it to family and friends.

  • "We would definitely stay at Jackson Cottage again."

The cottage is very well equipped in both the living room and kitchen and the bed was very comfortable. This was by far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We loved the upside down accommodation and and will certainly miss eating breakfast whilst gazing out of the bay window down to the sea. Finding a parking place was challenging each evening but at least we could use the bus stop directly outside to unload and load at the beginning and end of our stay.

  • "The cottage is lovely - beautifully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable."

We loved the fact that you get a sea view from the bay window and there is a wndow seat! As our stay was during covid restrictions, we were very confident with the arrangements in place for a safe stay. Parking can be difficult in Alnmouth and you need to be prepared to drive around looking for a parking space (which are free), but there is a very convenient bus stop outside the cottage for drop off/pick up purposes. If you are planning to eat out, especially in Alnmouth itself, I would strongly suggest booking at least a couple of weeks in advance, same for any places you might want to visit.

The property has always been very clean and well presented and since our last visit has had a new kitchen fitted which is great. Alnmouth its self is a lovely peaceful seaside village with excellent facilities, including a charming links golf course, and is an excellent base for discovering Northumberland.

Plus the cottage is very comfortable, warm (we visited in November) and good light.

  • "This was our second stay at JACKSON COTTAGE, the first being in 2018."

My wife and I were slightly anxious this time around, given the prevailing Covid-19 conditions, however, the owner put our minds at ease with all necessary precautions in place. We also appreciated the owner's guidance by way of a pre-arrival email along with an extensive list of local and not so local 'Places To Eat'. One final point; we had a spot of bother with a cracked toilet rim; however, the owner went above and beyond to have this replaced on the very same day, fantastic work. Hopefully, my wife and I will return to Jackson Cottage and Alnmouth in the not too distant future and in more settled times. Thank you for offering such superb accommodation. • "We booked the cottage for the first time this time last year on recommendation from a friend."

as a result we knew all about the first class facilities, which is why we were more than happy to book again this year. Everything about the cottage is first class. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, excellent bathrooms, except the one bathroom has no shelves to store tooth brushes/soaps etc on. This however is a minor point given the excellence of the rest of cottage. The crowning glory is the upside down nature of the cottage, with the en-suite bedrooms being downstairs and the living room/kitchen upstairs, giving a lovely view of the sea. If we holidayed in the area again, we would certainly book again and would recommend it to our friends.

The cottage was clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The view to the sea from the bay window is beautiful and provides a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Alnmouth has a good mix of pubs and restaurants, and also good public transport links, we took a bus out to Warkworth and walked back along the coast path , stunning! • "Jackson Cottage is a rather quaint "upside down' house with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and an open plan kitchen-lounge on the first floor."

The cottage is surprisingly roomy, very comfortable and is well appointed with all the bits and pieces required for a home from home. From the seating in the bay-window one has great views of the street below and to Alnmouth beach beyond. Perhaps trivial to mention but it could be important to those with mobility issues; parking or more accurately the lack of a dedicated parking space could be a problem rather than a mere irritation for some people. This apart, we had a marvellous week at Jackson Cottage and it is a wonderful base for exploring the Northumbrian coast. Well recommended.

  • "A comfortable, warm cottage right in the heart of the village, which is what we wanted, it was clean and provided most of what we required."

Liked the upside down effect as lovely view from living room, although bedrooms were on the dark side. A little disappointed that there was no welcome pack, after a long journey a cup of tea is paramount, milk in the fridge but that was all, we also didn't find the hairdryer til the last day! But overall we had a great week and you get what you pay for!!

It has everything that one needs when on holiday. The attention to detail is second to none. We have stayed here before and I hope we will stay here again. The surrounding area is great for walking but also well served by local transport. The bus stops right outside the door and serves both North and South coastal towns. We visited Boulmer, Warkworth and Alnwick by foot and Craster and Amble by bus. Pubs in the village are welcoming and serve great food. Also they put on quiz nights. A great venue.

  • "I stayed here with two friends over Christmas and we had a magical time."

We were greeted by two pleasant surprises: first, that the cottage is more spacious and the decor less dated than the photos suggest (the sofas are plain beige now), and second, a Christmas tree. The village was a great place to spend Christmas: pretty (with great Christmas lights) and peaceful, but with some life to it: the beach was thronged with Boxing Day dog walkers and the shop and deli were open Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. We didn't have a car, so this was particularly welcome, as were the coastal walks on the doorstep and the good bus service along the coast and to Alnwick. I had a couple of niggles with Sykes but none with the cottage: we loved it, and hope to come back.
