"Lovely house and great location but hugely disappointed for my in laws to arrive to a bitterly cold house with no heating."
Experienced difficulty in contacting Sykes after hours and received no response after leaving a whats app message. Called again the following morning and to be fair the contractor who called out twice that day was excellent but still encountered heating issues at the top of the property during our stay. Had requested a decorated tree which was not supplied and also reported this which was totally ignored. House served our purpose well and great for a big family get together. Kitchen very well equipped but some decor tired in places and the sofas which have been mentioned in previous reviews were ridiculous. Extremely low, impractical and totally uncomfortable. Half of our party regularly sat in dining chairs rather than subject themselves to the sofas. Very much enjoyed our stay but feel that property management was lacking

"Great holiday cottage and perfect location."
Would possibly recommend higher sofa in lounge. Also 2nd floor heating seems to struggle.Otherwise great.

"Our third visit."
We love to stay at this house, but, as we said last year, we are a group of older folks and although the settees look lovely, they are very low and deep and it's difficult to get up and down. The venue is well fitted out, beautifully clean and near the beach.

"We thought the property was warm, very clean, with extremely comfortable beds & well equipped."
The bedding & towels were pristine. It's in a perfect location within the village, both for the beach & local amenities. On the down side we felt that the property photos were not recent and the property was a little tired looking. All the venetian blinds were broken & unusable (we noticed that this had been mentioned by another guest a few months ago) We had to stand on chairs/bath sides to manually adjust the slats to let in some light! The main reason for a low maintenance score was that the shower on the second floor was not working and when we reported it to Sykes we found out that it was a known fault and awaiting repair. We should have been made aware of this issue before we arrived as it meant that 4 of the bedrooms had to use the over bath shower which was very difficult to get in/out of. We really enjoyed our time in Lindores and with a few minor improvements the property would be 5*

"A really well provided holiday home in a great location."
We did have one morning with no hot water, but as there was an engineer due to check the new heating system, it was dealt with very quickly. Plenty of comfortable seating for our large party - although those who find difficulty getting out of very low sofas might find it challenging! Dining chairs are always available.

"Lindores is a lovely property, clean & well equipped."
Copious amounts of hot water & comfy beds, nice towels. Ideally set in the heart of Alnmouth and close to all shops, cafes & pubs. Ideal for dogs and walkers. Us being of the older generation found the lounge settees very low and difficult to get out of, a couple of arm chairs would be ideal! The property does say 2 parking space permits but only one on arrival and several phone calls promising us one would be delivered it never did arrive hence having to find a space well away from Lindores so not ideal. Thank you Lindores, 7 + dog had a wonderful family holiday.

"Sykes maintenance request was not actioned."
No feedback provided at all.

"I have to say that our experience of NCCC to date has always been excellent but Lindores fell rather short of expectations."
I guess a bit tired might describe it - and things like there being no hot water in part of the house (until we discovered the pressure on the boiler was 0) and the dishwasher not working effectively and the dryer part of the washing machine not really working didn’t help. Having said that though it is an amazing house, a brilliant location and we did have a lovely time!

"We were a party of nine with 2 dogs on a 3 night stay."
Lindores had plenty of space for all of us. Comfortable accommodation in the centre of Alnmouth close to the beach and shops. Had a great stay and will certainly return again
-
"Second stay at Lindores, lovely spacious well equipped house perfect for a group or families and a brilliant base to explore the rest of Northumberland."
-
"Second visit."
Hope to go again. Love the place. Only complaint is that the lovely-looking settees are too low and deep for the older generation to get down and up... particularly up!

"The plumbing let down what is a great let The sinks do my drain well and leave ..."
The plumbing let down what is a great let The sinks do my drain well and leave an stale smell The top bathroom sink plug is broken and although I reported it nothing was done The bathroom in the master bedroom on the first floor bath when emptying leaks into the hall soaking bags and shoes The strange step between the kitchen and the scullery caused a couple of trips and it’s warning tape has worn off

"Impeccable decoration, remarkably well equipped property."
Superb location, right by the beach. Only disappointment was there was only one up to date car parking pass, whilst 3 cars were involved. We coped however. Beautiful property.
