  • "This was our fourth visit to Rose House and we had a lovely stay, very much like 'coming home!"

' Easy access to the beach and places to eat and within driving distance to other favourite spots such as Boulmer, Alnwick and other coastal villages. Will be booking again next year.

We are looking forward to seeing yo-yo again for your fifth visit! Property Owner

  • "Location of the property is really good."

However, the initial enjoyment was short lived when we discovered mould around the showers/bath areas; dirty saucepans and some crockery. Just generally unsatisfactory in the kitchen. I contacted the owner who was helpful and "sympathetic" and was meeting with his cleaning company on the morning we departed! He conceded that there had been previous issues too. All in all, our holiday could have been more comfortable and satisfying. Have heard nothing since!

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for leaving the house in such a clean and tidy state. I did try to catch up with you on Friday when you left. I did look at the en-suite and there was some discolouration on the ceiling of the shower. I was able to wipe it away with a damp cloth and I have made this point to the cleaners- who have said they will not miss it again. It should have been wiped before your stay. I did also mention that you found a pan with traces of scrambled egg in the bottom and two kitchen utensils that had traces of food still on the bottom. They made the point that we do have 8 matching pans and lots of other kitchen equipment and as a result their experience is that occasionally things are put away by previous guests who have innocently missed the fact that the equipment is not properly clean- especially when a kitchen has as much equipment as ours. They also said that they really can't check all the crockery and the cutlery and all the glasses and the pans in small house with minimal equipment- let alone a 4 bedroom house with place settings for 10. They also reminded me that we do have 2 dishwashers and we supply all the dishwasher tables and new sink cleaning equipment for each guest, but even then some things will slip through. I am sorry that these things took away your enjoyment of the rest of the house and the proximity of the beach. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful house, equipped with everything you could need."

The owner rang during our stay to check everything was OK for us which was a thoughtful gesture. Would definitely stay here again.

Hello, thank you for your kind comments. We do try to keep the house well stocked; especially the kitchen because people seem to love using the large table in the dining room and we are looking forward to hosting you all again. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house n a perfect location."

We really enjoyed our stay at Rose House. Lots of space and really well equipped. Minor things to improve Wi-Fi coverage - poor in the front rooms of the house and could do with a booster. Downstairs shower wasn’t working (reported by previous stay)

Thank you for the feedback- we arranged BT whole home WI-FI, and I am sorry the WI-FI coverage wasn’t good in the Living room. We have now had a booster from BT and there coverage is now rated fast in the front rooms Property Owner

  • "Lovely house comfortable well kept which our large family has stayed in before."

Only problem was the downstairs shower not working. Was so useful last time coming back from the beach. And for me was very accessible as I'm up long before the rest of the family. Also be aware that splashes from the kitchen sink can dribble towards the kettle.

Peggy thank you for your comments, I am glad you found your way back to us for a second holiday. The shower has been fixed, and I am sorry it was not working this time for you. It’s really handy for getting kids of all ages clean after the beach. It’s the shower I prefer to use. Looking forward to hosting you again Property Owner
