"Property is in great location but needs some tlc."
Kitchen is below standard for such a property.
Dear Sarah- a new kitchen, is being fitted in October - we try very hard to maintain the property to a high standard and upgrade areas as soon as practically possible. Property Owner

"This is our 3rd time at the Boathouse and we had another wonderful holiday."
We love its position with the added bonus of parking. Perhaps because it is coming to the end of the holiday season it is beginning to need some attention to paintwork etc but this certainly did not affect our holiday and we have already booked again for next year.
So pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay again. For your information a new kitchen is being fitted in October and new windows and redecoration in November. Property Owner

"Love this property."
This was our second time visiting and have booked for next year.

"You rang me about a leak in the bedroom as we were travelling up on the first Saturday."
Someone came to fix it but unfortunately it still leaked we put a bowl and put a tea towel round the leak as the carpet was getting wetter and wetter. I called you to advise that the leak was still leaking and you advised us to leave the key we did this as requested. We think someone came in because the linen cupboard door upstairs was open and this was previously locked but the leak was still leaking. As we had no further contact from you we went out, however when we returned later that day someone had been in the property as the linen cupboard was locked again but the leak was still not fixed. Also you might want to tell the owners that the oven does not work correctly the first time we tried to use it it tripped the electric so it must have a faulty connection somewhere. The oven door does not shut with a seal it only fans cold air. We had taken some food with us to have but due to the oven not working we had to use the microwave. As you will be aware microwave food is ok for re heating but if you have to cook in one some food items just go soggy so we ended up throwing them away. To be honest the whole place needed a pull through if you’re paying well over a thousand pounds and it’s not even in high season yet, you expect things to at least work correctly.

"The house is in a stunning location with views onto the estuary and beyond."
The house itself is well equipped, spacious and warm. The garden is beautiful and for those going in the summer is ideal for sitting out in. Could not fault this place.

"A lovely stay at The Boathouse, what an amazing property and beautiful views."
We also had the benefit of lovely weather. We were a little apprehensive because of some of the property reviews but felt these were totally unjustified, certainly in terms of the property being 'tired'. It was comfortable, warm, spacious and well-equipped. No better spot for enjoying a cup of coffee overlooking the harbour each morning! We will definitely book this property again.

"We really love staying at The Boathouse, but it definitely needs a little TLC before we’d consider booking again."
It’s starting to look tired, and issues from last year remained this year with some having got worse. Examples of this: - Bath (which is otherwise lovely) has no overflow pipe connected, and an exposed hole meaning there is a risk of flooding if the bath is filled. -cupboards and drawers in the kitchen are tired and some difficult to open (drawers) /need hinges fixing (cupboard above the oven) -equipment in kitchen was broken- cheese grater, but kitchen was well stocked otherwise, although a random selection of glasses rather than 8 of each type. -tiles down the side of the en-suite below the sink were mouldy- and need a good clean. -paintwork that is marked and needs touching up/redoing once a year. All of the above said, the cottage furniture, set up, and location works well, and if the above could just be addressed I think it would justify the cost. Thanks Karen

"A lovely property in a good position."
All you need inside to have a good and comfortable stay. The property is though a little tired and some TLC would at some stage be a good idea. Having said that it did not stop us having a wonderful time. The private parking was also a bonus.

"Excellent location, spacious and well equipped accommodation."
Will definitely be back.

"Fantastic property with amazing views."
Perfect location and really well equipped and comfortable. Thankyou we had a lovely week and hope to book again.

"We had a lovely stay at this excellent property."
Although we were only a group of four there would have been plenty of room for eight. Plenty of kitchen equipment, seating and good bathrooms. So close to beach and small village with a great deli and a couple of restaurants. Thoroughly recommend it for a holiday in Northumberland.

"Love the refurbishment."
The sofas are comfortable and new bedroom furniture useful.
-

"This was a half-term break with a couple, two girls, Grandma and Chilly, our dog."
It was a perfect place for us. The house itself was more than big enough and well equipped. It was a comfortable house and we especially enjoyed the view over the estuary and sunsets. We were on the beach in literally seconds and Alnmouth is a lovely, special little place. It's also especially dog friendly. We'd recommend The Boathouse and Alnmouth.

"We loved our stay at The Boathouse."
The property was very clean, warm & comfortable. It was also very well equipped with plenty of crockery & pans for self catering meals. The views were lovely over the estuary. The big bonus, as veterans of Alnmouth holidays, was the ample parking off the road with gates.
