“The site's contact Tim Syas was very helpful and we spoke to him on a number of occasions.”

mostly at the Coop where he worked. It would have been helpful to had written instructions exactly where the building was and we managed not to get into the building for about 45 minutes owing to a mix up about which set of steps we were expected to use to get up the block with the apartments in. Thereafter apart from the number pad needing some lubrication we made it our home for our stay. It's very well placed within Alnwick withing 5 minutes most of the shops and feeding establishments were within easy reach. The rooms were quite spacious and the kitchen very well fitted out. We were concerned that there were no tools for cleaning up like a dust pan and brush. We bought our own kitchen towels and Jcloths. On arrival, there was wine, bread and milk, tea coffee, which was a nice touch. There was a fitted wardrobe upstairs and hangers but no rails. We loved being there, on the top floor of three levels we had a grandstand views of the neighbouring roofs and the existing patterns of the clouds and the sunrises. Alnwick is a lovely town, with of course the Castle and the gardens, light up for Christmas. so it was a good place to stay and the coast where we walked on many occasions only fifteen to thirty minutes away. we would love to be back there now. About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
