The property

This characterful, four-storey Georgian Grade 2 listed townhouse, adjacent to Alnwick castle, sits in the middle of the fascinating Northumberland market town of Alnwick.

Dating back to the early 1700s, make this the base for an unforgettable break with friends or family.

Set on many different levels, enter the property on ground level and step down into its glorious garden room, a fabulous spot to sit and relax with the patio doors opening the room to the pretty slate floored courtyard with views directly onto Alnwick castle in the background.

The main living areas rest on the first floor, be greeted by an inviting spacious sitting room enhanced by period features including a classic fireplace and original shuttered windows giving a real cosy feel.

Adjacent to this, the attractive and well-appointed kitchen/diner benefits from a range cooker and a lovely dining table overlooking the High Street below. A half floor up you can find a library area stocked with books and a range of DVD’s, a modern family bathroom and a stunning beautifully dressed double bedroom looking out directly onto Alnwick's imposing castle set just behind the property.

Head up to the second floor, which hosts two more beautiful bedrooms; a king-size and a twin are immaculately finished to ensure you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until you leave.

A wonderful peaceful courtyard garden sits to the rear of the Townhouse, boasting an excellent covered area and views of Alnwick castle so you can sit and enjoy some downtime whatever the weather.

Step out of the front door and stumble upon Alnwick's wealth of amenities, first-class bars and eateries are joined by the idyllic Alnwick Garden as well as its outstanding castle.

This historic market town sits in between the Northumberland Coast Area Of Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Northumberland National Park, along with villages such as Alnmouth and Bamburgh nearby.

With Scotland's capital city of Edinburgh an hour by train to the north and Newcastle a shorter distance to the south this is an ideal base for people of all tastes.

A stunning grade 2 listed Georgian Townhouse set in an excellent location.

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
