  • "This house is home from home, it has lovely decoration, nothing is tatty, it is just lovely."

The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you need, the shower is great and the bed was comfy. We did have our dog with us, who slept well. The shared area at the back seems a little strange at first, but the neighbours were lovely. We really enjoyed out stay.

Glad to hear you had a great holiday and hope to welcome you back to Amble soon! Property Owner

The property

Positioned in the heart of the charming coastal town of Amble, amongst the picture-perfect landscapes of Northumberland, rests this wonderful three-bedroom holiday home, 4 Byron Street.

Set moments from the glistening waters of the North Sea, where the beachfront is lined with vibrant huts, and within easy reach of the Northumberland Coast AONB and the Northumberland National Park, 4 Byron Street makes an idyllic base to explore this sought-after area.

Unload your belongings as you step over the threshold and enter a handy hallway space, before following the corridor through to the spacious sitting room, where you can put your feet up and unwind as your favourite show plays on the television.

When stomachs start to rumble, discover the sociable kitchen/diner; uncork a bottle of wine and gather together with your loved ones as the designated chef gets to work on preparing a hearty meal with the use of the electric oven and gas hob.

In the warmer weather, why not make mealtimes an alfresco affair with a sociable seat outside in the shared courtyard?

As the day draws to a close, prepare for bed with a blissful soak in the tub before climbing into your pyjamas and catching your rest in one of three well-presented bedrooms, with two doubles and a king-size to choose from.

Enjoying a central location in the heart of Amble, you'll find all your local amenities right on your doorstep; fuel a day of excursions with a hearty breakfast at Radcliffes Cafe, take a break from doing the cooking and indulge in a spot of fresh seafood in a waterside setting at The Fish Shack, or stock up on locally sourced produce with a peruse through the stalls at Amble Village Harbour Market.

Soak in the sunshine with a peaceful afternoon spent lounging amongst the golden sands of Amble Beach, or stroll along the banks of the River Coquet toward Warkworth, with its medieval castle and 18-hole golf course.

Further inland, movie buffs will delight with a visit to Alnwick Castle, famed as the backdrop behind Harry Potter's Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, whilst other attractions in the town worth visiting include the quirky Treehouse Restaurant and the extensive formal grounds of The Alnwick Garden.

Whilst you're in the area, be sure to take advantage of your close proximity to Northumberland's National Park, with a network of scenic cycling, hiking and walking trails waiting to be explored.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
