  • "This is the second time we have stayed here."

It is a great house which is well equipped. Really appreciated the fact that all basic supplies like hand wash, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil and much more was all provided. Lovely welcome package with prosecco and dogs appreciated the treats! Really enjoyed exploring the area at a different time of year. The house was a great base. Will definitely return!

Thank you so much for your great feedback. It means a lot to us and that you had a wonderful time. We look forward to you returning. Regards. Denise and Alan Property Owner

  • "The property was very dusty ,sticky and tacky ."

The tables in the garden full of bird mess doesn't look like it was down at all . There was old dog poo in the garden ,and I already told told you no dog was coming with us . Nowhere for toiletries in the ensuite, needs black out blinds in the front bedrooms. The quilt on the bunk bed was far too heavy . If I knew the house was smack bang in the middle of a housing estate I would never have booked it .telling people to leave the property as found does not mean it doesn't need cleaning . Should always clean it after the last holiday tenants, instead I had to clean down where we would be using . They have left a guest book in there and are asking people if they want to come back just ring the owners directly. That sounds like they want to cut the middleman out . I wouldn't recommend this property at all it's over priced , makes me wonder out by 10 am and can't get in till 4pm ,what cleaning are they doing ? Sorry not enjoyable at all .

I am sorry you feel everything was not to your liking. I have responded personally to you explaining some of the issues. The information on Sykes' site does state that the house is within a housing development. Having said that, it is a very quiet area. As regards to the furniture, I am unaware of any cleaner cleaning the garden furniture. A bird could mess on the table as soon as it is cleaned. I do apologise, though, if you found dog mess in the garden. Bags are left for guests to use. I acknowledge your comment about blinds, although you did not mention it in your note, and it is definitely something we are going to do. You can see from previous guest comments that we receive excellent scores for cleanliness. All holiday accommodation has a leaving time of 10.00 a.m. and get in time of 4.00 p.m. The pricing is set by Sykes and not by ourselves. I hope, though, that the Prosecco and biscuits were useful. Beautifully clean, first class facilities, would make one comment, fridge door needs to be opposite hand.

Glad you found everything up to expectations and hope you had a really lovely week. Thanks for your comment regarding the fridge door. However, with its position behind the door into the kitchen I think this will be more restricted but will definitely take a look when we are up in a few weeks. Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely holiday accommodation."

Well equipped and warm. Great location. Could do with some coat hooks in the hallway and agree about curtains or blackout blinds in the bedrooms. The recent storm damage meant the back fence was missing for some of our stay so the dogs were not allowed out the back but the fence was fixed so all back to an enclosed rear garden again. Thanks for the welcome treats.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Comments are always very welcome. We will now be looking at getting some blackout blinds for the bedroom as this does seem to be an issue for some people. There are, however, some coat hooks in the hall - next to the shoe rack. As you will have seen, the storms really left their mark on the area but I'm pleased that the fence was fixed before you left. Once again, thank you for your comments. Property Owner

Everything I needed was to hand it was like home from home. Loved it. In fact, I will let you into a secret but don't tell everyone ;-) I loved the lighting, specially the ones on the landing and hallway. We nipped through to Dunelma at Cramlington on a rainy morning to see if I could drop on the same ones. Pleased I didn't find them as I actually had the identical ones in my lounge back home. Such good taste. Ideal location for beaches and boat rides. Perfect :-)

  • "Very well equipped."

Comfortable and clean. High standard of fittings. Could do with curtains at bedroom windows as the blinds let light in. Garden not very private overlooked on three sides.

Thank you for your feedback after your stay at Beach House. It is always useful to hear people's opinions. I am glad that you seem to mostly have enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you felt overlooked in the garden which we feel is a relaxing spot. However, being mid terrace and having houses at the back, this cannot be helped but we do feel the 6' fence is adequate. I was also sorry to hear you felt the blinds were inadequate. Again, it does not seem to have been an issue with guests before but we will monitor this. I hope this does not prevent you from coming again. Regards Property Owner

Nearby beach was ideal for the dogs starting the day off with a good run before exploring the area. Beautiful part of the country, friendly people, Although only a convenience store which was expensive there were plenty of supermarkets around, with Seahouses about 5 minutes away for superb fish and chips, very very white fish so extremely fresh. The cottage suited all out needs very clean ,comfy but only had milk and a small box of maltesers as a welcome pack when more provided in first one we stayed in. I would definitely stay there again if visiting the area I like the use of keysafes as it makes getting into the property when you arrive after a long journey very easy.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
